I agree. This is one of the most awful things of police brutality that I've ever read. The cop(s) who let this happen even though the mother and neighbors all were stating that he was not comprehending and incapable of should get 20 years in prison in my opinion. I hope they go to state court and get a huge payout and the peace of mind that the cop(s) responsible are locked up for a long time. This is just truly awful.
I think there should be more training in police academy as to what to do with those who have trouble expressing oneself or understanding what is being said to them. I myself have had a cop pull his gun on me and thank god he never fired but, as soon as he did it scared the crap out of me. (Gun pulled on me while getting my drivers license out of my backpack and I pulled on a pen (I don't know why that mattered to pull out a gun) and it was one of the most traumatic things I ever experienced. I don't know if he though I was going to stay him with it or what but, I only pulled out while to dig deeper for my drivers license.
(Off-subject)
Watch it.
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Et8J8sUNa3c&feature=related]YouTube - Seattle Police Release Dashcam Video Of Woodcarver's Shooting‏[/ame]
A dash cam video from the officer who shot and killed Native American woodcarver John T. Williams was released Friday, showing Williams ambling slowly across the street in a crosswalk before the officer opens fire.
Although most of the action takes place off-screen, Williams is seen walking across the street in front of the patrol car in the video, dated Aug. 30.
The patrol car starts to pul More..l forward, then stops.
Officer Ian Burke can then be seen walking after Williams and shouting, "Hey, hey, hey! Put the knife down! Put the knife down!"
The officer walks off-screen and then five shots ring out in rapid succession, killing Williams.
Birk's badge was later pulled after a Seattle Police Department Review Board and Chief John Diaz reached a preliminary finding that Williams' shooting was not justified.
A judge ruled Thursday that the clip from officer Ian Birk's car could be released to the public after prosecutors had a chance to notify witnesses not to view the tape.
The tape's release comes after a public disclosure request from the Seattle Times.
An inquest into Williams' shooting death by Officer Ian Birk has been set to begin on Jan. 10. The facts of the case will be laid out in the open through the process.
The officer don't know John T. Williams was deaf in left ear. Scary?
Thanks god, I have no problem with officer from Chicago,WI, and QC for communication thru paper and pen or body act.
Once police pulled me out and I had take my drivers license and insurance out then open the window then shut down the engine quick before officer came at my car. I was hold the DL and the insurance front of officer till he point the LD. Save a time and less misunderstand.
I think someone looking trying to looking the insurance card or vehicle registration in the glove box without officer asked was bad idea and made officer think it was gun.
