Police Department website under cyberattack

Me neither- it's happened for many years, still happens and will happen. Hackers and malicious folks will almost always find a way to do it no matter what security measures you throw at it.

I suppose what is good for the goose is good for the gander. There is a growing uproar in my town over police "eavesdropping" on cellphone conversations and texts. They won't say to what extent, though. They can hack but we can't? Yeah, right.

I don't believe it. Your town can actually afford to eavesdrop???

They had some kind of sting operation a couple weeks ago that resulted in arrests of a few crack dealers and credited it to intercepting calls. :dunno2:

Hmmmm.
I will check into it.
Maybe they got a blanket warrant?

Getting one of those isn't easy to do. The department would need to have a very good reason for getting one-- such as the public safety being at risk.

Are you a lawyer?

I am sure that the authorities in Beowulf's town know what they are doing and how to do it, after all it IS their job to do so. It sounds like that sting operation was MONTHS in the making so yes they had enough time to get a warrant, a general one or ones for specific people they had on their radar.

oooohhhh lol ok. I thought they were doing it all over, all the time. ppfffttt.

NYPD and NJ here do it all the time. they do shit money to do it because of a hefty federal antiterrorism funding they get. the worst part? the funding was misused and abused and the fed is turning a blind eye on it.

you seem to have time to reply back to this post and in other thread....

Only when I can. I've been working on a solution to install Windows 7, and I've been at it for nearly 5 hours trying to find the answer.

no Mark... you do NOT need to have to reply back to every post if you don't have a time. you should reply back WHEN you have time to do it.

there's absolutely no reason to reply back to some posts and say "no time to chat." it's disrespectful and idiotic. work on that.

Sorry. My attention isn't quite where it should be. A bit distracted tonight, I'll admit.
