Police: Children left in running car as mother tans | Lancaster News - WGAL Home

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -
A woman faces charges in connection with leaving two children in a parked car in Elizabethtown while she was in a tanning salon.

On Saturday morning, an officer spotted an idling car in the first block of East Park Street, police said. A 6-year-old girl and 10-month-old boy were inside, they said.

"He asked the girl where her parents were at and the young girl said that her mother was across the street at the tanning salon. As he spoke to the young girl, he also observed an infant in a child restraint seat in the rear seat area. The young girl said that she was not to talk to strangers and began to cry. The officer explained that he was not a stranger and that he was there to help," a police news release states.

The officer went to the tanning salon and located the mother, Krista Mann. The officer asked for her driver's license, which she said she left at home, they said.

The officer discovered her license was suspended in connection with DUI, police said.

Mann is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children, two counts of leaving an unattended child in a motor vehicle and driving under suspension, DUI-related.

no supervision on children! But parents need to learn lesson! What thought this story?!?

Some people should not have children, seems like good parents are becoming a forgotten item and then other parents are yelled at for being over protective. One good thing from this story - we know the police can at least count to two.

agreed...
I'm all for modern eugenics and sterilization.
I did my part-tied my tubes at 28. I do not wish to have kids and am proud to be part of the "child Free By Choice " movement-you can google it.

Adopt-don't breed is my motto.

There should be standards in place for the "breeders" as there are for adoption. As an adopted person who was adopted at 3 months of age I'm all for it.

If someone got pregnant and it was an accident, well-it's called birth control and being responsible. It's very easy to avoid getting pregnant-use a condom, use birth control, use the morning after pill. If all else fails if you don't feel up to the challenge of being a mom you can put the kid up for adoption through an agency. You can get paid for this. If you want to keep the kid then you better take care of it.

It never amazes me how stupid people can be when it comes to procreation and responsibility. I'm also sick of hearing " well, god must have wanted me to have this kid" " it was created in his image ". Oh bull, is God Deaf like me? Blind? Retarded even?

No, a child is the by product of sperm and egg-it's not a miracle. I look at the procreation process much like a doctor would.

How many kids are there in foster care? ALOT. Does it really matter if a kid looks like you? are you that selfish? " I want a mini me running around " " I want to carry on my genetic line " is more like it since we are mammals. Control that primitive urge and ADOPT.

:eek3:
