Please help me -- is this a scam?

Yes -- scam!!!

I actually had a whole fully featured 1 bedroom apartment in a complex for $350/mo including water, sewer, and garbage for 3 years all to myself before I moved here, granted I didn't live west of the cascades, so things out here were less expensive than the megalopolis. But that was my exact rent. Before that, I lived with my cousin and other room mates sharing a 3 bedroom apartment for $895/mo, so none of that threw me off.

Whoever asks for your personal information through emails and phone are scammers...all they want was your wallet...

Never give out your personal information, even your birthdate and social security numbers, even your bank acct or your credit card numbers... to anyone you feel unsure or don't feel right...

Ask around first...there are websites, you can find out if they are scammers or not...even you can find out through busineess bureau...

My favourite website for this is Snopes (previously known as Urban Legends). I used to use it all the time. Once I got rid of Yahoo!, my need for it dropped to almost nothing, but I still recommend it to my friends and family, and I use it when my friends and family ask me things that Snopes can answer.

(Yeah, I still keep my profile on Yahoo! Geocities, but the scammers seem to be looking for my Yahoo! Messenger ID and Yahoo! email address, which I don't use any more.)

NorCal20 ... huh? :hmm: Um, I have a mac..

then no contact with them. let them go!!!!
If you wrote one email to them, they would stay contact with you.

I would be a little uncomfortable knowing that they know exactly where you live, though they're unlikely to use that information. If you feel safe about it, just mark the address as spam. Otherwise, you could tell your local law enforcement, but my experience with them is they never wanna do anything about it, and if I've made a mistake, they enjoy calling me stupid. You might have better luck though.

SimplyMints... [whack my head] read the backward? SCAM!- !MACS... get it?

It's definitely a scam.

There are so many points that you can read between the lines to recognize it as a scam. Grammar is one of the point, and like many others said, by getting your personal information is another point.

If all those information does not add it all up, then you know it is a scam. Most of the time when you see things that are too good to be true, you know it is not the case.

def S C A M!! I always get those stupid scam letters in my email and I just click that away to scam folder to shedder it off.

SimplyMints, im not mad, just whack my head as "duh". You're having a long way to get know me.

I thought that's what you meant, but don't worry, I take it easy, just playing. I know I'm still new here, and I have a lot of people to get to know, and it's hard for people to get to know me while I'm changing so much. (I hope people will some day because I really want a name sign, and I hope it doesn't have anything to do with rambling:giggle:)

You probably lived in the GHETTO.

I know, cause I did have a 1 bedroom place for $360 a month with EVERYTHING included except cable, and it was in the worst GHETTO of Milwaukee (North 26th and Wells). This was in 1999.

Of course it is a fucking scam. If you can't recognize it as a scam, then you are most likely stupid.
