Pics of Cave of Crystals Discovered 1000 Feet Below Mexican Desert

wow thats fantastic, hadn't heard about that before but willc ertainly be looking into it, like you I'd love to see that, really beautiful.

on that second picture the guy looks shocked at the size of it, do you think he's saying," god thats about the size of the diamond my wife fiancee wants the wedding ring":giggle:

:P Macian. Or maybe the bloke is thinking of breaking off a chunk and returning the ring and using it in its stead. Crystals are weird, lad, they are not alive but they grow. Dang.
 
Amazing, This is definitely breathtaking.

Although, I pity those orange men out there in the cave wearing the ice cooled air pack to keep themselves cool in the scorching weather. That's got to be unbearable carrying the pack on your back all day long in a hot desert.

Or maybe they are Supermen in their Fortress of Solitude? Yeah, that's lame I know, but that was the first thing I thought when I saw those pics, lol.

Yes, I saw that special program on TV. It was amazing!

The scenes in the crystal caves remind me of the original version of the movie, Journey to the Center of the Earth.
 
Amazing stuff!

Nobody would think that there are huge ice crystals right there under the Mexican desert!

I remember that movie and I watched it several times even though it was not closed captioned in those days. It makes me wonder how prevalent those kinds of caves are. :hmm:

There are probably many yet to be discovered wonders underground.

I wish that crystal cave was open to tourists. It would be very interesting to explore it.

Yep! It would be awful cool for us to visit them in person. It would produce lot of tourism money for sure.

I recalled there is another interesting cave discovered near Houston last decade yet they refuse to open it for the public because they want to save every bit untouched... I forgot what materials were there, though.
 
Wow, that's really cosmic! It's really beautiful but one might think it's cold there, but it's really hot down there...probably due to the heat from the magma about a mile below the crystal cave.

Yep, the article said the magma is about a mile from the crystal cave. Don't dig that far and burn me to Hell. :P

Reminds me of the cave where Superman/Clark Kent in Smallville would go to talk to his biological father.
