pepperoni and macaroni salad

I wonder how I should do it.

Should I buy a pepperoni log and cut it into pieces that are sized like cut up hot dogs or should I use pepperoni slices like they use on pizzas?

if it were me, i'd buy a pepperoni log only because i like cutting it up into extra thick slices. individual pepperoni slices are too thin for my tastes.

pepperoni and macaroni salad

PREP TIME 15 Min
COOK TIME 40 Min
READY IN 55 Min

INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
1 pound bulk Italian sausage
1 large onion, chopped
1 (15 ounce) can pizza sauce
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/3 cup milk
1 (3.25 ounce) package sliced pepperoni, cut in half
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

DIRECTIONS
Cook macaroni according to package directions.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook sausage and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Drain macaroni.

In a large bowl, combine the pizza sauce, tomato sauce and milk. Stir in sausage mixture, macaroni and pepperoni. Transfer to a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle with cheese. Bake 10-15 minutes longer or until heated through and cheese is melted.

Sounds really good, I will try that sometimes. During the summer I do add pepperoni (tomatoes, black olives, etc) to cooked macaroni then peppercorn dressing to it, and chill, then eat. Ever heard of it?

Milk probably makes the sauce a little creamier.

yes, milk will make it thicker and creamier, just like if you add milk to tomatoes soup instead of water, it is thicker and creamier...

no, i've never heard of that dish, but it sounds delicious. i'll definitely have to try it!
 
We made this casserole for our lunch. I am eating it now. It is really good. And we put the milk in and it looks ok too.

This is a recipe I will keep.
 
I have not tried it yet. We Had Pizza last night and decided to have ribs tonight on the grill.

i'm glad you enjoyed the recipe bott and that the milk worked out just fine. i've always made this dish with milk and never had any problems because of it. :)
