this happens to be one of my all-time favorite recipes! :)

pepperoni and macaroni salad

PREP TIME 15 Min
COOK TIME 40 Min
READY IN 55 Min

INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
1 pound bulk Italian sausage
1 large onion, chopped
1 (15 ounce) can pizza sauce
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/3 cup milk
1 (3.25 ounce) package sliced pepperoni, cut in half
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

DIRECTIONS
Cook macaroni according to package directions.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook sausage and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Drain macaroni.

In a large bowl, combine the pizza sauce, tomato sauce and milk. Stir in sausage mixture, macaroni and pepperoni. Transfer to a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle with cheese. Bake 10-15 minutes longer or until heated through and cheese is melted.

That is something I will try to make, although the milk sounds weird. I wonder if you could use extra pizza sauce in it's place?

i'm not sure why the recipe calls for milk, but i don't see why you couldn't substitute extra pizza sauce in its place since it is a liquid.

by the way, i've also made this recipe sprinkled with chopped onions on top. it's delicious!

I'm going to try this recipe this weekend.

With chopped onions and black olives.

It sounds good. I have got to try this, perhaps this weekend before I leave for Costa Rica. Thanks for sharing your recipe with us. :)

Hmm... pepperoni?

I wonder if I should try macaroni & cheese with pepperoni bits? :dunno:

fair enough! LOL!
I wonder how I should do it.

Should I buy a pepperoni log and cut it into pieces that are sized like cut up hot dogs or should I use pepperoni slices like they use on pizzas?
