Hi

Some parents I know chose to walk away from ci program.

what gets me

govt funded ci everything

the boy and his parents live on a deaf school (parents are carers) that is the home of the child ci center and program for half the country

the mother is rehab coordation she says yes or no to other people geting cis deaf supports i find this:laugh2::iobarf:

no medical reason just the program dont work

What is wrong with that? Not all parents wants to have their kids to have C.I. Some parents do but some don't. It is their personal choice to make that decision. :)

the kid has ci but not using it

because parent felt that program was not working

Could be more going on than you think.

Maybe the operation was a blotch. Maybe he has sensory issues. Maybe something malfunctioned. Maybe the kid just simply learn better in a quiet world rather than a noisy one.

Who knows.

this is what get me

It's not clear what bothers you.

That the mother has power?

That her child had no success with CI?

That CI sometimes fail?

YOu think she should not have that job if her child failed?

So what to all of it.

Or you are mad she turned you down for something because you are not technically deaf?

I know you were denied hearing aids as you hear too well.

Is that your problem with this woman?

I would be curious to know why his CI didn't work. Was it actually worse than his HAs?

my aud is still trying to get supports.

nz stucks unless u are profoundly deaf

i have to come to i will just pay for it

if the nz govt desides to keep as live they should funded everything not what most important

Wait, so, a parent's choice with her own child and if they will follow the post-implantation program or not is any of your business? why?

If you have a grudge against determinations made towards what funding you don't and do get, blame the government. Don't blame the lady who took your application and then call her out for her parenting choices.

ironly shes telling people to get cis. govts poliys

and she cant say they work

Will someone be so kind to explain what is going on here? I find the OP's responses too "short and curt"!....

CI's don't work for everyone. Why continue with a program regardless of who is paying for it if it doesn't work. I as a taxpayer that funds government programs am happy if someone is not wasting money on something that is not working.

Far as I can figure out from her 83 posts so far, she is a deaf wannabee who was denied services and is out to hurt everyone who had any input into all her denials.

In other words, it is an angry hearing person who is having a tantrum.

New Zealand government will pay for hearing aid, only if you are in school full time.

If government funded everything, then our New Zealand taxes/goods and service tax will become more higher to help with funding costs. New Zealand taxes is currently already high even the living costs are high, especially with everything is taxed in New Zealand.

Many children don't receive the benefit promised by the CI companies and surgeons. If he wasn't getting benefit, and is functioning well academically and personally without the CI, I see no reason why he should not be permitted to discontinue using it.

Beats the heck out of keeping him in a program that will only serve to delay him further and further.
