Well, I posted earlier about my new Naidia Q's. Anyways, the tube is cutting into my skin. Do I just need to get used to it, or do I need a longer tube? What might be some products that could help?

You need longer tubes. HA's should not be at all uncomfortable. In the mean time--try putting a band-aid or something where it's rubbing. You can get a roll of band aid tape--just the sticky part of the bandaid-at Walgreens. It's a little spongy so it should protect the sore spot. I use it on blisters and it's wonderful.

Thanks, HOH-ME! Will be begging Audi for longer tubes ASAP

Call her today, she will get you in. Ill fitting hearing aids is why a lot of people buy them and never wear them and she won't want that to happen to you.

No, I have to wear the hearing aids to school, so I put up with it. Will be grabbing some bandaid tape later!

cutting? it should NEVER hurt you. the audiologist must have cut mold tubing too short causing horn tube to dig in. Did you try just twisting the horn away from the head so it not digging in as much?

My mother insists its the perfect length, and Audi agrees. My ears don't...so I'm just taping up my ears. :/

Radio- these are not adjustable BTE molds. RIC molds.

Did you ask why you are getting sores if they are the "perfect length"? Ask for another audi to look at them....

I live in a rural community...closest Audi other than her is 60 miles away... And gas is expensive!

Hearing aid dealers have a tendency to make the tube as short as possible because the longer the tube, the less power is available. Do get a longer tube but not too much longer.

Actually, you should be able to replace the tubing yourself.....

Tousi, I have RICS. The tubes have a wire in them... And the tubes are built into the hearing aids...

If you really wanted to, you can still replace them yourself. There is a little pin where the wire connects to the aid that can be removed with a clothespin, and then the wire just comes right out like a plug. I'm sure you could find a longer one online somewhere

That could void the warranty.

If it's not working for you and people insist it's right, they are wrong and you need to tell them! No HA should be uncomfortable to wear.

I agree-who cares what your mom or the audi say--if they are not comfortable for YOU, the person that is wearing them, they should fix them.

Well, I have begged Audi. Multiple times. So I just figured out how to put fabric on my ears until I convince them otherwise.

If the audi isn't helping to stop the tubes from cutting your ear (which they shouldn't), I question their position as an audiologist.

Show them the scars...jeez, ouch. :/

I agree. I would call the clinic manager or the ENT or whomever is in charge of the clinic and show them the problem and tell them someone needs to deal with this....
