Still, Han shooting first is not only history, you'll have it readily available to show people who don't get it, or don't know about it. I know I want to see Han shoot first too. :D

Quit it. Steel is very young, don't know about original Star Wars. He is 21st century fan boy.

Dude, Everyone knows there are three different editions of Star Wars. Steelie here is the only n00b that does not know that the 1977 edit existed.

Actually, I bet you pulled that part about the 1997 edition off a website since you claimed at the beginning of this thread that there is only one edition of Star Wars.

Ironically a lot of people respect Lucas now after Revenge of the Sith.

I never said there was only one edition.

Perhas I wasn't clear enough on you...putting in CG effects doesn't entirely kill the series, but just to make it better. But changing the scenes differently like for example...Greedo shoots first! thats a real fucked up scene cause it've been over 20 years knowing that Han shoots first. Putting in extra scenes like when Han meets the slimy fat alien near his falon ship wasn't all that bad either so putting in extra scenes that we never seen before would make the movie even more understanding. Much like The lord of the Rings extend trilogy which I have also, shows many scenes not shown in theatres before so I usually like to check out the deleted scenes, but not the scenes that were changed over and over making the whole story completely different.

Obviously, I have remembered seeing the Star Wars second edition in theatres when I was 12 so of course I didnt have to look up to cover myself or whatever like that. just belive whatever you want but I just know the second edition was better because of extra scenes and better CG effects to make the triolgy more polished and better than ever.

So I dont fully respect Lucas when he had to edit his orginal trilogy again by changing some of the scenes completely different than before so not my taste.

I smell a flaming load of crap emantating from that quote. If you claim you were 12 and remembered the originals then why did you accuse Starwars.com of re-releasing just the 2004 editions on DVD when that press release CAME FROM A WEBSITE THAT LUCAS OWN?!

I respect Lucas for fullfilling his vision. Did you know when he was making it in 1977, Fox kept cutting his budget in half simply because they didn't trust him? They pressured him to make the movie for less than what he expected! They wanted a Christmas 1976 release. When Lucas couldn't meet that deadline, they pressured him for a may 1977 release and cut the production budget in half. That nearly caused Lucas to suffer a heart attack that would have killed him at the age of 32! That is why he did these recent editions so he could fulfill his original vision of a more grander and epic Star Wars.
