Each day about 68 people receive an organ transplant, but another 18 people on the waiting list die because not enough organs are available.

Will u take ur Organs with you when u Die or will u leave it here for someone that needs it?

Transplantation saves lives, but only if you help..

I choose To leave Organs to Provide for People that needs it Here.. I have it on my driver's license.:)

My Opinion..

Im an organ donor and I put it on my license.. I think its right because someone else might need my organs while i dont need them anymore since im dead (i know but thats not going to be a while now..) For an example, what happens if you get into a car accident and you die from a brain damage or something like that but your heart, liver, kidneys, pancreas (you name it below the brain) would be necessary to give to people that need them.. Its not like i would need them... they would be rotting away with my dead body, so i thought it would be a useful way to dispose of my organs when i get older... I know i sounded like im going to die, dont worry im not..

I couldn't help but cry when i read through the posts here. Kayla, the senario you gave it exactly what i just went through

In January my friend was in a car accident with her bf; she was driving and while she was she had a brain aneurysm (that's when a blood vessel or artery in your brain ruptures). She blacked out and her foot was on the gas still, and they went through a stop sign and were hit by a transport truck  She had massive injuries and all her organs were shifted out of place but were not damaged (one lung was bruised and the other collasped though) Her 18th b-day was 2 days after the accident. Her injuries were so bad that the doctors had to induce a coma, and a week later, when she started to wake up, they had to re-induce it coz they thought she had more brain damage. The morning of her scheduled surgery she had another brain aneurysm, and she died   Words can't describe what it's been like.

My friend was an organ donor, and donated her corneas, pancreas, 2 valves in her heart, liver and a kidney (i think, i can't remember the last one). She saved 7 lives out of 1 ( the one life being herself) I strongly encourage organ donation. Please do it, even though it's hard.

:werd: I too would donate my organ also, im also on the list too! and its also in my will anything that happens to me to donate to any willing able bodies that needs it more than i do. it's in my living will and in my last will and testament

I dont have organ donor on my ID but my hubby does .. I will put it there in the future on mine.

"Don't take organs with you to Heaven, donate it to people who need it on earth" (Car sticker) Its good point.

Yes, I would be happy to help other people.

For smokers people who want to donate their organs, I doubt if Doctor are happy with them?

Smoking only goes through the Lungs. If the Doctor says the Lungs are bad they will not donated it.. but it has nothing to do with the rest of the Organs..It depends how many Pack of Smokes they smoke a day. I am not a heavy Smoker..

No, For matter of fact if u went to a doctor for Check up.. If the dr. says u are healthy U not in dangers of Donate Organs to people that needs it...

I am afraid to donate my brain and ten fingers to anyone. A person may have a new transplant Sabrina's brian to causing extremely talkative. It will crack up Alex, Moderators and members. Posts 1,200 per day to run out bandwide in AllDeaf form.

Therefore; I rather not to donate my brian and ten fingers to anyone. :|

You ever thought about old people's organs?? are they too old to be donated? :dunno:

Well, my cousin died from domestic abuse when she was 25 years. she was heavy smoker. Surprised the doctor took her cornea and several parts to donate to people who need it.

In my opinion, Herpistis C and HIV+/AIDS are worst than smoking. Impossible to donate to anyone with the dangerous parts for Today.
