Hello everyone!

I hope it's okay that I post this here. Please point me in the right direction if I've made an error.

Anyway...I'm currently writing a novel. My work in progress is roughly 10 chapters in (at about 30K words, plus a 20-or-so-K in random snippets). My main character is a deaf woman.

Would there be anyone interested in reading my manuscript, or at least a few chapters to get a sense of her character? She's a pretty unique character, and while she isn't defined by her deafness, I don't want any potential deaf readers (if I get published! *fingers crossed*) to be put off by her.

I currently have a deaf critique partner, and his feedback is invaluable. But since he is a writer himself, I'm looking for someone who doesn't necessarily have an interest in writing, but who can perhaps help me make her grow as a fictional character. Plus any areas about deaf culture that I might have made an error in while writing....

My character is in her early-to-mid-twenties, so keep that in mind if you're considering signing up to help out, haha. Also, genre would be either chick lit or women's fiction - so, while I'm not opposed to a guy reading it, be sure it's something you might find at least partly entertaining.

If anyone is interested...let me know. I do request that we chat first, and get to know each other. My writing is personal, and I want there to be some level of trust on my part before I share with you my writing. Hope that's okay.

Thanks!

Rachel
