It is a huge tragedy. One of my co worker's daughter and fiancee are students there. They are both fine but the daughter's best friend was killed. Another co-worker's neighbor's son was shot 3 times...not sure if he survived or not. Everyone is talking about it at work. I do not want to read the links cuz it is just too horrible. I am thinking of the families especially the best friend who was killed ...she was an only child. Terrible.

That is for to become US citizen, at least 5 yrs for the refugees/asylums, 3 yrs-been married to US citizen. They can renew green cards in every 10 yrs. To become US citizen u must know English n US history well to be able to pass some or all 100 QQ, and it's in writting test, no their native interpreter/relatives allowed. that is why many people not ready, or couldn't, or failed.

Does anyone know if there were deaf students at VaTech and whether they had some signalling system or help in evacuating the campus during this awful mess?

yes they do have automatic alert system to emails and cellphones. the population of deaf students in VT is extremely small - barely a dozen including me (well at that time).
 
Interesting and scary at the same time. Depending on the information in those records, this man could be held responsible for the rampage if he knew Cho was highly unstable.
