One night stand

What exactly is the point of this thread?

I think the title explained it all, as well as the original question, although, like most threads, sometimes makes left, right, and U-turns.

Honestly, yes, that is a little less creepy, that at least you had some history with this guy and know his background.

Now if you get an STD, at least you will know where to find him!

OK, I'm joking - a little. I'm glad you were awake enough to use condoms to protect yourself. Are you in college? If so, probably the university health service can give you the appropriate health tests, if you want.

Re: Dallas - you mentioned a few days ago that you were fighting all the time. Maybe you had this one-night-stand because really, in your heart, you WANTED to be through with him. Depending what your fights were about, and how they fit the context of your relationship. Did things get resolved that you were fighting about, or was it the same thing over and over again, never moving forward with a resolution to the problem?

Maybe it's time for you to date other men. It's interesting that in a way, you picked someone a lot like Dallas - someone you've known since your early teens, who knows your family, you know his family - it sounds like you like the security that comes with a long-time knowledge of someone, and that is very understandable.

Anyway - to you. It sounds like you are still thinking about what it all means and how you got into this situation, so that's a sign that you are learning from it.

Yes, but what did the original poster hope to get out of it? Myself, I think it's a personal mess that one should keep under wraps.

The difference there is - high risk sex (one night stands, sex with heroin users, unprotected sex etc.) and safe sex (sex with someone you know as a friend and trust, sex with a spouse, practicing safe sex, etc.).

I do not engage in high risk sex. I am a chicken shit when it comes to that.

I do not have the clap, herpes, gohnorhea (gee, I don't even know how to spell it) or any other type of STD.

I had a roommate once that engaged in high risk sexual activity and spread crabs throughout the whole house. That was gross and freaked me out. I moved and had to boil everything I owned. :giggle:

:laugh2: :laugh2:...so unfortunate!...A friend got the "crabs" also and tried to pay another friend to go to the pharmacy to get the stuff to get rid of them....no luck! :laugh2:...he had to do it himself, and he said that everybody was looking at him when he put the stuff on the counter!...He was totally embarrassed.

I just discourage people from addressing me personally with asinine questions.

If they want to bother other people, I try to stay out of it.

I totally understand you, I just thought it was funny. Some people just might not get it, and its a totally innocent question. :giggle:

Wow. Not asinine check for clarity. How we learn if not ask? I think is better ask what someone might call "stupid" (or assinine) question than assume wrong. I didnt understand either, so not asinine.

Well most religious people that I know feel that they have some type of connection to God, and then do all types of crazy stuff. The guy in particular was a Preacher, or one of the other head hanchos in the church. He claimed to be closer to God, and that was assumably was his title, but that's another story in its entirety.

(off topic momentarily)

It used to shock me when I would hear of a member of the clergy being accused of heinous crimes. I was reading just last week about a Baptist preacher who is accused of raping women. And here, in Atlanta, there is a prominent minister who is accused of raping young boys. Those are horrible crimes, and not what one would typically associate with people of any faith.

I have come to learn, often times, the hard way, that if a person of faith puts their faith in people, instead of God, Allah, Yahweh, or whatever, they will get burned every time. People are imperfect - some more than others.

People who are in positions of authority, whether a member of the clergy, or professionals - that have a certain amount of "trust" associated with what they do should be punished far more severely for breaching that trust.

Just like a school principal who is busted for being a pedophile .... yep, it's crazy.

I had to get that same stuff too - its a pink icky goo. You have to sit in the tub for 3 hours.

Not fun :giggle:

I too was embarrassed to go buy it and even had a friend call my doctor to just get the Rx sent to the pharmacy so I could pick it up immediately through the drive through without any older ladies giving me the "evil eye". :giggle:

They should get the book as well as many other things thrown at them. Pedophiles, dont get me started, all I need is ten minutes in a room with them alone. Enough said.

Most of the Christians I know desire to be more Christlike, and they know they have a long way to go to reach that goal. The closer one is to God, the more sensitive one is to one's spiritual shortcomings, which develops a humble spirit. A truly spiritual Christian will be the last one to say so.

I've never heard a pastor or evangelist say he was "closer to God" than other people.

It means a dentist, aware he had AIDS, wore two gloves while treating a patient and transmitted the virus to her anyway.

How hard is that really to understand?

Yes, I vaguely remember reading about this!...It made sensational news....

See, that's the point. We all had to grow through it to learn from our experiences. Sunny is going to have to do the same. How many times have you, and I, tried to tell our kids something to give them the benefit of our experience so they wouldn't go through what we did? They don't get it. They have to learn through their own experience the same way we did. I know...there isn't a mom alive that wants to hear that, but it's the truth.:giggle:

^^^^^ This times 1,000,000.

It would be nice if kids do not need experience. Or, when they young adult they do not need experience. That we just educate them verbally and they magically *know* and learn but this is not reality. Sometimes, well, *all* the time, young people need to learn *THROUGH* experience. Our gal here has learned a lot over the last few days about herself. She will be just fine.

You can ask for a health certificate.:P

That's how intimacy is these days. :giggle:

After gay husband leave me, and I have testing done 3 times over 18 months, I *STILL* would not be intimate with another man until I see test results. Not very romantic but if you care about your life you do it.

:laugh2:...Perhaps, one day, they will have these machines in nightclubs so that a person can be tested....right there....no worries at all. :giggle:

Just "stagger" behind the curtain and if ur "positive" for a STD, all the lights will come on and more than likely, you'll be thrown out of the bar by the bouncers....tarred & feathered and branded with a big red "X".

Someone is probably researching this *very* thing as we type! :laugh2:
