One freak lawn mower accident **contains graphic photo**

WTMI with the pictures. Pretty sure Dreamer and a few others are gagging as I type. Me? I watched enough CSI to handle it.

so how is it way too much if you can handle it...CSI isnt nothing, watch real stories of the ER. Dont know why I never became a surgeon, love the blood and ohhhhh whats this ! Bet you cried when Bambi's mom was shot too?

Never watched Bambi. I can handle a lot-- this is nothing.

Yeah, I took the risk took off all safety shit from my lawn tractor. That is because it is impossible to diagnosis whats ****in wrong with the tractor when having too many interconnected safety switch. Took off all of them, bam problem solved and I decided it is cheaper to buy batter contained jumper for jumpstart the car, used that on tractor to start. Why? Lets do the math, the lawn tractor battery cost about 60 dollars and only last 2, maybe 3 years that is it, while that battery contained jumper is a dry cell, would last up to 10 years for 90 bucks. Been doing this for about 10 years.

I wish you would consider that. I dont mind the reverse mow disabled but the brake and mower seat switch I prefer to leave alone. If you got hit by wasps, and you jump off in panic while mowing..... just saying. It happened to me few times. The brake should be left alone because young kids might try to start it and its in gear..... starter is powerful enough to move a small tractor.

I hear you on batteries. it really sucks on price. I even used a lawn tractor battery in a snowmobile since it was cheaper for the size it fits in . freaking stupid location .

DH and Radio.... where do you buy your batteries? I get mine at walmart or farm supply for $30. Mine has sat out in the freezing weather all winter and it still fires right up. Hasnt ran since last summer, and amazed me its holding its charge.

One of my friends told me a story of a deaf woman who lost her half of her fingers on one hand in a lawn mower accident. What happened is that the mower bagger got full. She needed to empty it. As she emptied the bag, some of the grass fell back in the lawn mower chute. She had forgotten to turn off the lawn mower before going in the chute to get some of the grass that had fallen. The blade spinned and cut her fingers. I wonder if she would have remembered to turn off the mower, but did not because she wouldn't hear the mower still running. I realize that about every mowers today allow you to turn it off automatically, but some older lawn mowers are manual. You've to turn them off manually. I just hope that people remember to turn their mowers off because they cannot hear whether it is on or off.

"hear" Why she can't feel the vibration?

Like I said it was interlocked, meaning everything must connected to each other in order for it to work. I was like WTF, I only want remove couple safety switch like backwards, I don't live on hilly or mountain, it is totally flat, pointless. You know, interlocked is? They are complicated to prevent somebody from disable one of safety feature. I looked whole system and found one end that is next to engine used to kill the engine. That spot, alright I use it, viola problem solved so I can mow without having city issue me ticket for not mowing.

Its useful for many purpose, not just to start lawn tractor, could start your dead car, and other stuff for just that one low price, I can't complain. I have second of that, first one last me 9.5 years before they finally refused to recharge. I used it A LOT of times hell worth less than a hundred bucks.

If you want my suggestion which type of battery jumper to buy, 700-900 crank amps is sufficient for most needs, get the one that use regular extension cord to recharge, don't get one that comes in with power adapter, cause you will lose it and lose the whole jump starter. Friend of mine learn his lesson and said I was right about get just one that takes orange extension cord to recharge.

When I was a kid sitting at the emergency vet with my dog, this guy brought in his own dog all bundled up in a bloody towel, blood all over the guy's chest. He was out on his riding mower and his dog was running around and he ran right over the dog's front legs. No more doggie.

We never let our dogs outside when someone is mowing as a result of that.

Good thing our huskies hate when our tractor lawn coming around and they ran away from it.

eep. Growing up I knew a boy who lost his leg- above the knee when he was about 4 to a lawn mower accident. Wonder where he is these days (knew him through the summer swim team/swim club). Was interesting one summer when he broke his OTHER leg and had to wear his prosthetic to get around.
