I bought one of these last year. My cats had zero interest in it, though. I thought that was odd, but I think it just depends on the cat. I gave it to my boss a few months later and she said her granddaughter just adores it. So I think it really varies who and who doesn't like it. I don't know if it's the noise or the action, not sure which.

If they're getting hurt they'd run away. Sure, it might sting, but obviously they not being hurt bad enough to run away.

I think they're more startled than hurt. RC craft that small usually have soft plastic blades.
