"On Thanksgiving, we played a fun and cool game....."

Yesterday Thanksgiving morning, I woke up with a sore throat and was coughing off and on, wasn't feeling quite well, but didn't want that to ruin the thanksgiving day with my family, so I made what I was suppose to bring to my parents house at 1, which was corn casserole and corn bread...Mmmm!

We were all running late :run: it's been awhile that we were the last ones to arrived at my parent's house  ...It was really nice to see my family and my grandparents were there also, we had a nice Thanksgiving dinner and played a game called " scene ", on one team, it was Cheri, Brad, my mom (she played some as she was busy) and I, while my 2 oldest sons, bro on one and finally my sisters and Cheri's oldest son were on the other team..When the game started, we got to go first because we had the highest number after rolling the dice....The first question was related to a movie, showing a series of snapshot photos and whoever would call out first and have it right win that round, I looked at Cheri and said " Where's is Banjo when we need him " LOL since he's a movie guy and knows pretty much about movies and actors/actresses, their names etc....I thought our chance of winning this game was slim, but Brad was the first one that called out to what it was, but everyone else just sat there not having any clue to what is was....funny thing, he kept saying it over and over and when time expired, he was right. (Mash was the answer to that question)....Then later on during the game, as the team that my sisters were on were a bit ahead of us, we gave them a card that made them lose a turn, a card we had drawn earlier and kept, when we were the first ones to reach the end, we lost the opportunity to win the game right on that spot when all played and kept us from winning, then on our next turn later, we had to successfully answer three questions in a row, if we get all three questions right, game's over and we would win, but we ended up only guessing two of the questions right, so we were still in the spot called the 'final cut' area, then the second time we had to answer two questions when it was our turn again, the other two teams had a chance to win, but didn't, so on our turn, we only got the first question right, but didn't know what the second answer was for the second question.... LOL, then once more, we had another chance to win, we chose the category that shows 3 items that can be helpful to get the correct answer....the card we had was to name the actress that played in three movies.... " Trading places " Die Young " and "The Fog "....boy, I struggled to remember what the actress' name was...then I knew she played with John Travolta in another movie and was trying to point that out, and then I kept saying Jamie...Jamie Lee, then my mom said, Jamie Lee Curtis...we won we won! It was soo much fun and it was so exciting to play too....:dance2:

Last year our family played " Apples to Apples "....did any of you guys play any games on Thanksgiving and if so, share the experience here. Also, how was everyone's Thanksgiving?

Aw sis, I couldn't post every details of the game cause my post was getting too long so I decide to only post the first and last of the game...We all did very well during the game and each of us had a chance to answered questions etc, and the important thing is that we ALL had an awesome time, you, me, RR, our children, our sisters, bro, and mom :grouphug:...

Usually the holidays are followed with agony and alot of alcohol. Some families are lucky where everyone gets along and loves eachother like mine, then there's those you hear about where everybody fights, argues and shows up drunk. The meaning of thanksgiving was to celebrate what you're thankful for and some sort of unity thingie with indians (I think?) when we first came here.

That's so true, glad we don't do that either....Yike!

Sound like yall had fun yesterday.. :)

For the games- do we play? no we dont.. all we did was watch the pony eating grass, pet the pony and the horses then walking around and enjoy the beautiful 60's weather. Petting my cats.. Kids playing on tire swing.

We went to our brothers house and ate there with family. I got to see my niece who is away at college. She came home to visit. It was great to see her. then we came to my moms and enjoy visiting and chatting.. Our family friend Sylvia came to eat with us and it was nice. i couldnt eat all of the foods but my son did ate all of his foods and the desserts. I was amazed that he could finish all. haha! then jace and dylan had to go home

so TJ and i went back home and talked about his week at his fathers house and that he missed me blahs. he looked for his toys that he want to take home with him so he could play with it.. then he said hes tired so i had him call his father to come and get him.. finally i came online to check emails once more then went to bed and watch The pacifier. It was so funny!
It was good day but very tiring for me as i have been in bed all week. I was hurting by the time i get in bed so took Tylenol and relax.. It was wonderful day being with my family and friends. :)

yes we used to have a farm.. we used to have many different kind of animals like pigs, chickens, roosters, turkeys, rabbits, peacocks, crows, goats, fishes, and etc but my dad sold it all in early 80's. then later after my dad left, my mom bought few like pigs, calves, chickens, and goats to raise for eggs and meats.. goats to eat all grass lol then now?? all that left is the pony, 5 horses and 2 donkeys. but they dont belong to us but we can pet them as they are on our land. of course not to forget my 25 cats.. haha.. next door neighbor have many black cows ..

we live in country where there is no dsl, no cable modem and only one grocery store that sell gas and another store that sell foods and post office. thats it. so life here is peaceful and quiet... but sometimes can hear the oil rig echo once in a while.. BOOM.. ugh .. that annoy snakes, tarantulas, deers, and so on to come out .. even cougar that was reported seen near lake few weeks ago.. Yikes!

We went over to Granny' s house for thanksgiving.. It was yummy.. We had a lot of food.. We didn't do much we wanted to come home and put our Christmas tree up but it was sorta late so instead of doing that we cleaned the house before we put it up today! Looking forwards putting our tree up~ It was a fun thanksgiving~~~

Yesterday morning my back was hurt. I took tyonel. My husband, my son and I went to my unlce's house for thanksgiving. We had good time. At night my back hurt so bad and I was cold. My body were shaking. Today I went to see doctor. I hope that my virus flu didn't spread over my uncle and family. I thought it was only my back but it is real flu. grrrrr

Eric, Sean, and I went to Eric's parents house for thanksgiving lunch.... we also watched their new HDTV of parade and shark tale... then we had to leave because eric had to work that evening.... So Sean and I ate leftover for dinner then Sean and I played for a while then watched movie.. then the next day ( today) Sean and I went to pick up the teen boy that i work for and we all went to chuck e cheese. they had a blast then eric's mom picked up sean while i am still working with the teen boy. It was nice.

in my old times.. my family side and I would play games "pigs with spoons" or scatorgies , cards game. etc... they wouldn't want to leave me out much so they wanted all of us to play game as well. I missed those times. :)

What woman has time for GAMES on Thanksgiving? The games are for the rest of the family, while the Mom works her tail off. Creating a big meal is a huge and very tiring job that many young people today have not yet mastered.

I told my kids that it was time for the younger generation to take over and they followed my advice. Thank God!

It was nice and small. It was just the 8 of us. I couldnt eat alot of food because I have ucler. After that, we went to visit our 2 deaf friends for a while and we played Phase 10.
