Oklahoma Ex-Cop Convicted Of Serial Rape

Oh wow, that's a racist statement.

What, do you think white people can't make unbiased judgments during a trial?

No. The mentality is usually " Oh they were just poor black people. They don't really "count." as being " harmed, so all white juries might be a little less harsh. I am however super glad that the jury saw this as a case of predatation, and this scum will be locked up forever!

All white juries are made up of all white people, and people are individuals. It's just as racist to say that white people are usually one way as it is to say black people are usually one way.

There are a lot of bias in jury trial.

Same goes with both of white and black. I'm no racist.

Reba, it is part of mentality and see my case about al.com below - you will understand.

Especially considering he's not all white. His mother looks Korean, as does he....and he was convicted so he didn't "get off" on anything. The justice system does work. I think he was a serial rapist posing as a cop though and that he used the job to support his criminal tendencies.

From Foxrac's link:

An all-white jury that deliberated for more than 45 hours over four days acquitted Holtzclaw of 18 of the 36 charges he faced involving the assaults.
So he is punished for 18 charges instead of 36 charges, therefore he got off on other 18 charges. I don't mean to be picky, LOL.

There is probably not enough evidence for other 18 charges, or duplicate charges.

But you're assuming they are biased to blacks because they are white no?

That's not my assumption - many blacks said all white jury could be biased and not fair trial for black victims.

There is bias in OJ Simpsons trial and majority black jurors acquitted him.

So you're saying they found him guilty despite people saying that they would be biased. I think I understand.

I don't understand about what are you saying.

As OP, I said that I'm surprised that all white jury convicted Holtzclaw on first degree rape and other charges because most cases, police officers are rarely convicted or indicted like one case in Alabama and the prosecutor did excellent job but unfortunately, jurors stick with their bias.

There are many people worried about all white jury could acquitted Holtzclaw on all charges, but turned out to be big surprise for victims. I'm glad that Holtzclaw is convicted on first degree rape.

I find it so disgusting the guy is actually feeling sorry for himself! I wonder if he is a sociopath and serial rapist . I hope he rot in hell !

But if you didn't think the jurry members could be just and fair because they are white then that is racist.

Oh wow, you don't understand about what I said - that's not what I said.

This forum is full of misunderstood so go read my first post again - see deafdyke's post too.

I said racial bias are PART OF PROBLEM in jury trial and not everyone received fair trial - I'm not talking about THIS CASE, I means not THIS CASE.

Um no...... Have you actually read up on this? Do you know about the issues in the justice system? If you read up on issues in the justice system, you'll see a LOT of bias and unfair justice rendered when minorities are the victims.......I wish it wasn't that way, but it's true.... I wish all white juries didn't have biases.....and granted this was a 100% horrendous case no matter how you slice it.
