I've read almost most of questions and answers so far . I can not think of any good question that has not been asked . But for now just wanted to stop by and say it was nice knowing the real you !!!!

yes, it's amazing how far we've come in terms of technology (and even awareness!) when it comes to the blind, deafblind, deaf and hoh. :)

:ty: for your kind comments! i've enjoyed reading your posts as well! :D

I am sorry about you have an allergic. I have only one allergy is sulpha. I am not sure spell this. Do you have an asthma?

How long have you been migraine?

How long have you been depress?

When you're became deaf/blind it make you emotion, angry and depress?

Do you accept that you're deaf/blind?

Hope I am not re-asking any questions.

What kind of clothing do you prefer.

Like cotton t-shirts and jeans?

Long skirts and button down shirts?

Sweatsuits?

Flowing dresses?

In other words, what is your style?

1. i don't have asthma, but i do have year round allergies that trigger coughing spells.

2. i've had migraines since i was 17 (1987).

3. i started suffering from depression in the early 90s. my tdoc thinks i may have been bipolar at that time since i was showing many symptoms of the illness, but didn't realize it because i didn't know what bipolar was. from what i understand, many people with bipolar go undiagnosed for about 10 years before they are accurately diagnosed. my "official" diagnosis of bipolar came in 2006 after i was hospitalized for a severe manic/psychotic episode. i accept my diagnosis and am not ashamed about the fact that i have bipolar.

4. after i lost my hearing, i was *very* upset, angry and depressed. i had an extremely difficult time dealing with my emotions and coming to terms with the loss -- so much so that the director of the deafblind center felt as if she were walking on eggshells every time she talked to me. it wasn't until i began learning alternative communication techniques and meeting other deafblind people like myself that i began to understand i could live a happy, successful life despite deafblindness.

5. yes, i accept my deafblindness 100%. although it took me a very long time to reach this point, i now know that deafblindness isn't something to be ashamed of and deafblind people can do anything they want to if they work hard enough to achieve their dreams. even though i have ci's, it doesn't change how i feel about my deafblindness. after all, with or without my ci's, i am still deafblind.

Hope I am not re-asking any questions.

What kind of clothing do you prefer.

Like cotton t-shirts and jeans? i prefer wearing t-shirts and jeans on the weekend when i feel too lazy to do anything. :giggle:

Long skirts and button down shirts? i like wearing long skirts and button down shirts for special occaisions and work settings, but i don't wear them on days when i have nowhere to go. there's no sense in dressing up when i'm not going anywhere and people won't see me anyways. :giggle: i don't care for long skirts in the winter because i get cold very easily, so i mainly wear them in the spring, summer and fall.

Sweatsuits? i like wearing sweatsuits when i have a "lazy weekend" or don't have any plans for the day. i don't like to wear them in public because they make me feel sloppy and unkempt.

Flowing dresses? i love wearing flowing dresses in the spring and summer months. i also like wearing them for special occaisions and work settings. one thing i love about flowing dresses is how they are one-piece so i don't have to match my clothes. :giggle: they are also more comfortable than long skirts and blouses.

In other words, what is your style? 99% of the time (except on days when i don't leave the house) i wear dress pants, a blouse/button down shirt and a blazer. i also like to wear pantsuits since they do not require color matching, are comfortable to wear and make a woman look nice and professional. i like to wear plenty of jewelry and a small amount of make-up. in terms of make-up, the only thing i don't like to wear is eyeliner and eye shadow. my eyes are very sensitive and i hate the feeling of having something on or around my eyes. another style of clothing i like to wear often (in the fall and winter) are dress pants and sweaters. i like my clothes to be roomy. i can't stand it when my clothes are tight, itch or cause me discomfort. they need to feel comfortable and not restrict my movement in any way. when buying clothes, i also pay attention to their texture. i like to pick out clothes that have distinctive tactual features to them (i.e. uniquely shaped buttons, fabric that feels nice to the touch and not "rough" or "cheap," etc.). i also like to select clothes that are neutral in color so i don't have to worry about mismatching them.

I wonder, why do you use "i" when you finish the quotes ? Is there a meaning for it?

because she answered the question INSIDE the quote box. AD won't let you submit anything if you don't type a reply so she just picked a random character which is "i"

any other questions? i'm wired right now, so my answers should be interesting. :giggle:

i'm glad you're okay, sosie. after you see the doctor, let me know what he says, okay? i'm concerned. <hugs>

yes. definitely let your consumers know about checking for restaurant menus online. that's what i do and it works extremely well for me because i can download the information onto my braillenote and read the menu while i'm in the restaurant.

Hear Again, I apologize for not getting back to you any sooner. I was sleeping, sleeping, sleeping almost all day for the last two days because I was SO dead tired, no energy. Also, it affects my moods because of the menstrual cycle. (Soon..) No fun. UGH... Now, I feel better, but not 100% better.

OK, I will let you know what my PCP says.

OK, I will tell them when I feel 100% better. Thanks for your advice. I remember, one of my former consumers uses CCTV, to read the menu (and also, uses Zoomtext magnifer/reader for his computer). What a wonderful technology?!!! :)

yes -- please do keep me updated as to how you are feeling. i hope you feel better soon.

as for myself, i'm afraid i'm not doing so well. :( i woke up last night with a dry, hacking cough and my throat is raw and sore from all of the sneezing -- not to mention the dry cough.

yes, zoomtext and cctv's are wonderful pieces of technology! :)

OK, I need to read the whole thread before I ask any more, but...

Hear Again, what is your favourite month? And, why?

OK, I need to read the whole thread before I ask any more, but...

Hear Again, what is your favourite month? And, why?

actually, i have 3 favorite months: may, june and september.

i love may because it's the beginning of spring when you start to hear the birds sing, the weather starts to warm up and flowers start to bloom.

i also love june because it's the start of summer when temperatures are in the 70s -- not too hot but warm enough to do any activity outside. i love going for walks and it is during the month of june that i do most of my walking (approximately 2-3 hours/day). june is also the time when my family has alot of cookouts which i really enjoy.

september is one of my favorite months because it's when the weather starts to cool off and you start to experience some relief after a long, hot summer.
