Oh!!!!

Well - the kids have decided on something wonderful for Christmas and MIL still doesn't approve. Tough tiddly winks on her, we are doing it. They have decided to make a donation (my money) to World Wildlife Federation for specific animals and will get a small stuffed animal in return. Daughter has chosen the Black Jaguar and son has chosen the Red Panda. They are trying to decided now on names for these stuffed animals. :giggle:

That's a good thing they will remember doing. We always give to our local rescue league for all occasions, and it makes us very happy.

We usually do something like this each year, but money being the way it was, we didn't for the last 2-3. This year we have already donated all kinds of things to the Animal Rescue League here in town and to the ASPCA and The Humane Society, now the kids asked (begged) to do this and I couldn't not agree.

Ok, is OFFICALLY Christmas season. Grocery store last night have: Christmas oranges AND candy cane ice cream!

I'm still paying off debts from my first marriage... however, I am getting a small bonus from work (shhh don't tell the gf). I want to get my gf something nice but I have no idea what to get... and no, not getting a right... not ready for that yet.

I'm thinking $200 or less...

Gym membership? na, she would probably take it the wrong way.
Personalized pens? silly.
edible underwear? sorry, that's for me
oh, what about a photography course? maybe...
perhaps a locket? put my picture in it???? hummm...
maybe a really big mug! he he he (she loves her tea and creamer)
I wonder if there is something related to knitting I could get her? Or is it called croqueting? I'm such a bad boy friend, she explained the difference and I still don't get it.
How about a ... oh GOD! now I know why I hate this season so much!!! Grrrrr!!!!!!

Does she like cooking? You could do what my sister's husband did and bring in a private chef to teach her lesson on certain tecniques? (sp?) My sister *STILL* talks about that, to this day, and it wasn't an expensive gift. Unless you trying to get Ramsey. :giggle:

If she is passionate about photography I would definitely go with classes. Then get her a personalized mug for tea. With *your* photo on it so that every time she have tea she think of you and thought it take to get that made for her.

You could also get her membership to crocheting or knitting club if that is a real passion for her.

Women, I do not think, are so much into jewelry (sp?) as they are into very thoughtful gifts no matter how inexpensive. ;)

Bite your tongue! As a jewelry designer, I object to that notion.

My daughter made a *birthday* donation to 'Save the Elephants' in her best friends, and my pretend daughters, name. She LOVED it!

She is a terrible cook (please don't tell her) :eek3:

I think she likes taking pictures as much as I do... I'm going to look around for a photography class or something like bringing in an instructor for a day.

She makes her own jewelry and her stuff is way better than what I can afford to buy. I am going to leave this area alone.

Thanks to everyone for all the good ideas. I'm going to look at the Kindle Fire. She has a nook and never uses it. so I don't know about this one yet.

^^^What about a spa day? Many women would love a day of pampering and massage.

Only three countries in the world celebrates thanksgiving days - U.S., Canada and LIBERIA. Liberia celebrates their thanksgiving day on first day of every November. :)

Right on it is the Christmas shopping season for Canadians now. :)

I think other countries celebrate too, just call it a harvest day or harvest celebration. Some countries have more of a celebration of peace or such. I think there is a lot of similarities with our (and Canada's) celebration of Thanksgiving.
