Obama beat McCain in ALL major cities of Texas - Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, and El Paso. It's the rural counties that voted for McCain.

Austin voted for Obama by a wide margin - 66% vs 33% likely due to youth vote and liberal records. Other cities were close.

Washington DC voted for Obama--93%--McCain 7%

Boult or others,

Would you mind briefly describing the post above? Thanks! :)

It's a cartoon of tourists visiting Abe Lincoln Memorial. Abe Lincoln in the chair has his arms up cheering "YESSSSSSSSSSSSS" and the tour guide said "He's been like that ever since Election Day 2008" :)

It is a statue of Abe Linclon with his arms raised up in happiness saying yes!

the caption under says by tour guide " this has been this way since the election of 2008.

It's a picture of the President Lincoln standing on the balcony of the White House with his hands in the air going "Yes!" He's overlooking a crowd of people saying "He's been like that since Election Day 2008."

:giggle:

I love the different interpretations of the picture!!!! Its so funny!

Daredevel, Secretblend and Oceanbreeze,

Arkansas to vote on gay adoption ban | 365 Gay News
The people of Arkansas, having defined marriage to be only those of the opposite sex, have decided that only heterosexual people can foster children - it would appear.

It's not enough that these children don't have a loving home to live in.

Nice to see that the South continues to sink back into the 18th century. It helps that the GOP is now a regional (mostly Southern) party and will never be a national party again.

I take notice that a huge swath of "Red States" occupy the rural states (the states with a lesser amount of people). Save for New Mexico and Colorado, the states outside of the Great Lakes, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and West Coast do not favor McCain.

In short, it would appear that the "days of Northern Aggression" is, most, remembered by the South and other rural areas (Mountain time zone areas). Or are they, simply, rural?

Congratulations to Obama!! I am happy that he is the next President of USA.
