Hey folks,

This is an old thread from last year that someone posted. I actually just saw this a few mins ago while trying to find another thread...

I know this is old news..REALLY old, actually... But since so many wondered last year where I disappeared to , I thought I'd FINALLY give a late explanation about it all.

Early last Oct, I got sick suddenly and had to be rushed to the hospital. I ended up spending five wks inpatient with a life threatening infection. I initially recovered from that infection and was released from the hospital last November, but was on strict bedrest. In December of last year, I got another serious and life threatening infection, though, and spent another ten days in the hospital fighting for my life. Again, I recovered. I came home a week before Christmas, and was back on strict bed rest until I guess January '06. It didn't end there. Just this past April, I had surgery and was BACK in the hospital for five days, and BACK on bed rest for another month. Since then, I've fully recovered, and I'm finally doing alot better.

I want to thank everyone for their well wishes during that time. I know I probably should have said something, but I was really struggling with my health, and I kinda didn't want anyone to know. I had told a few friends about it. This is how Eve was able to post the update on me...SHE had't heard from me either, so she got hold of my phone # from someone that we both knew online, and called my house. I wanted people to respect my privacy, though, so I told her to keep a lid on my illness and where I was. It was hard , and I honestly didn't want to answer to alot of questions about where I was. I'm about to come upon the one year anniversary of when this all started, though, and I've had a change of heart, sorta. I STILL don't want alot of hoopla about it, but I also feel I owe something to you all since so many inquired about me.

I thank you all for caring. It means alot to me to know that so many of you were thinking of me when I was so sick.

i am glad you are well i know it is hard to get well with the life threatening illness
i have been through that myself about 4 years ago i didn't tell much of it either

i undy how you not want to tell much i respect ya

Your health comes first before everything. I do agree with you. I am glad you are back all healed.
 
Awwww.. I am so glad that you are doing good.. and recovering.. stay well..
some of us need to know our good friends .. so we can pray and give some moral supports..
I know I would do the same but.. sometimes you feel in the need of friend..

next time.. give us call.. so i can add up candles and pray .. ! :D

I'm sorry I was stingy with the explanations. I sorta feel bad about that now, but at the time, I was going through a hell of a lot, and I just didn't want to answer to anything. It was a long hard road for me, and I'm just now really willing to share some of it with people.

Ah OB, never knew about that cuz I was not around much on AD in 2005 though.. I guess it came out in a good way for you. :thumb:

Thank for that, but actually, IF there is a next time, I'd probably do the same thing. I'm sorry. I DO have few friends who I am close to, and they would know. Otherwise, I wouldn't announce this on the forum. It's just not my way. Especially, for something like a serious illness.

I do hear that you care. I appreciate it, too. It's just when it comes to something this serious, I don't feel it needs to be announced on a public forum until such time the person themselves feels ready to say something. It's too personal. Too private, and I don't wouldn't want all the attention it would draw. I spent nearly a year fighting for my life, and there's STILL things , I haven't shared with people. I mean, NOT ANYONE. Maybe some day, but not now.

You two weren't the only ones. I scared the you- know- what out of alot of people when I disappeared. I'll feel bad about that one for awhile, but I'm doing really good now!
