Wow, that's very sad.

I remember about Alabama in back in 1991, it was hardly to see obese people, just very rare but today, it is much common now.

That's not surprising given the median age is climbing.

That is totally sad and I have seen reports that obesity is hitting the younger generations as well. There are toddlers and older who are now obese. That's real sad for me.

Do you mean severely obese people? There have ALWAYS been chunky people, but it does seem like there are a lot more hugely fat people.

look how few states are in the lightest blue categories....certainly not mine

Damn....widespread for sure! Not surprising about Colorado being the "thinnest state" in the US. I've heard about that from friends.

This is why its better to start working out now versus 10 years from now! If you wait for the right moment to workout, it will become harder and harder to start! If any of you guys need help with this contact me alright!

There was something about on the news last night. there was story about a guy buying a house build in the 1800's and the guy dishes would not fix in the cabin .The guy had dinner plates that were 12 inches and the dinner plates were a lot smaller in the 1800's Our dinner plates has gotten a lot bigger and we fill it up with more food than we need. The news said if we use smaller plate it would help as, we are eating with our eyes today.
when Iwas a a little girl I would ask for more food , so my mom would take my meal it put it on a smaller plate ,it would look like I got more food , but it was the same food on a smaller plate, smart mom!

It is still in obesity family.

Not really in Alabama and southern states in last 20 years ago, it was much less obese people in past.

Back in 1970's, obesity rate in US was around 10% or so but went up to 35% now.

That map was taken from the documentry /movie "Supersize Me".
