Obama's gonna win again

I stated those sentiments in another post. If there is anything that could close the divide between the parties, this event should be it.

Some people want that divide to continue. I guess they just want to feel "superior".

Some people are clutching for anything positive in a political way after years of intense negativity. I fail to see Obama as a better President because of this event. He simply did what any other President would have done in this situation. Liberals can belittle Palin, but even she would have said "go for it" when the evidence was shown. The leadership shown here came from military ranks, not elected officials. THAT is where the credit belongs.

Which kind of shows all those "he doesn't have military experience" arguments to be so much hot air.

Bush served in the TX Air National Guard.
Palin had the Alaska National Guard under her. and the famed Eskimo Scouts too.

military experiences....

off point????

Bush went AWOL and got away with it.

No, just over your head.

What baffles me is how anyone can give credit or blame to any past or present President based on this event. The guy was the world's most wanted fugitive. No matter who was in charge, who started the war on terror, etc, the end result is that military people did their jobs. Obama deserves no more credit for pushing the "Kill" button than Bush for initially ordering his capture. I really cannot see how this becomes a Liberal/Conservative issue. Sorry.

I said essentially the same thing in another thread.

According to what i just saw on Bloomberg moments ago....Osama's demise may have occurred due to a lack of phone and internet service in the compound. Making it appear someone was trying to live "off grid" :dunno:

I just saw on the news a question someone asked Dick Cheney: "Do you feel that the President deserves credit?"
Good gawd, this is getting ridiculous!

His demise occurred because he took a bullet to the brain.

Yes, it is. But even old Dick had to give him credit for having made the decision at the prime moment. What is even funnier is the attempts to twist it so that credit is lessened.

You know, there are things you could do to combat the sky rocketing price of gas.
What, drill an oil well in my back yard?

Sorry, my HOA specifically prohibits drilling and mining on the property.

Uh, no. Many other things. But they require sacrifice.

Obama has nothing to do with the cost of gas. The cost of gas has nothing to do with the death of Osama bin Laden either.

To think that such thing can affect the cost of gas is ludicrous.

And, last year, whoes idea was it to shut down ALL dirilling in the Gulf of Mexico unnecessarly? This does have something to do with supply and demand. For month Obama forbid drilling, only to watch price go up and realize he had to re-start. The re-start had nothing to do with the safety of drilling being assured.

It was rumored that Bin Laden was holding Obama's birth certificate hostage so they had to get him to show proof that Obama is an American-born.

He was killed yesterday because Obama spent the last couple of months reviewing current intelligence and planning the attack, and then gave the order.
I give Obama kudos for what he did but it sure didn't go down as you described. Have you even been reading the reports and statements?

You might be an expert in many things but military intelligence and operations ain't one of them. :giggle:

Yep, I've been reading everything that came out and was available, along with having the TV turned to the news stations all day.

Never claimed to be a military expert. But I do know that Obama is rightly being given credit for this momentous event, and the entire event hinged on the decision he made.

...Now with Obama - he fixed Bush's mess, got Pakistan to cooperate with us, and maybe kissed some ass here and there but hey - that's what diplomacy is all about! so that our men (SEALs, CIA, etc.) can do their job. Previously, Pakistan refused to cooperate with us under Bush Administration. Now with Pakistan's cooperation and others, we got him! D-E-D! DEAD! :giggle:
 Pakistan had nothing to do with the raid on OBL. They didn't even know it was happening until after the fact.

If Pakistan was "cooperating" why did they not notice that OBL built that huge complex only 1,000 yards from the Pakistan military academy, amongst the homes of retired army officers?

When our Black Hawk helicopters were first spotted over the OBL compound, the cooperative Pakistanis were preparing to scramble their fighter jets to shoot them down!

OK, what can we do to combat skyrocketing gas prices?

Start a thread and we'll discuss it. This is a thread about the influence of Osama Bin Laden's death on Obama's re-election probabilities.
