OBAMA TAKES MEDIA, MCCAIN TO TASK
Obama takes media, McCain to task - First Read - msnbc.com

I :applause: Obama for stood up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'LIPSTICK' JUNGLE
'Lipstick' jungle - First Read - msnbc.com

Huh? Why should Obama apology Palin when he never say anything against her? It´s McCain and his people who misinterpreted Obama´s word.

I haven´t see any nice word from Palin to thank Obama for defend Palin against media for the nasty rumor over Palin´s son and pregnant teenage daughter and said that children should leave out of political issues. *shake my head*

Ad on sex education distorts Obama policy
McCain message to run in battleground states and on national cable TV

NYT: Sex-ed ad distorts Obama policy - The New York Times - MSNBC.com

OBAMA CAMP: AD PERVERSE, DISHONORABLE
Obama camp: Ad perverse, dishonorable - First Read - msnbc.com

What McCain did is definitely VERY sick!!!!!!!!

Obama, I thank you for stand up yourself and know what you are! I do not take McCain´s word against you serious.

You're not suppose to be proud of him until you become US citizen. then I'll clap for ya. :D

I can't argue with the sex-ed. Attacks like that are part of the reason why conservatives aren't terribly thrilled with McCain.

However, with regard to the lipstick comment, the article didn't include the context which would explain why the McCain campaign jumped on this. At the RNC convention, she made the now-famous joke, "What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull? Lipstick." Not long afterwards, Obama said, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig." Considering the relentless attacks against her (including outright lies, half-truths, and innuendo rivaling those said about Obama) coming from his supporters and the media, I don't think it's unreasonable to make the connection that Obama meant that line as an attack on her. Given the applause he got with that line, I wouldn't be surprised if his supporters made that connection, too.

To be fair, I don't think that's what Obama meant. It just wasn't the smartest analogy to use. These things happen in politics. However, I think he's being disingenuous in acting like his opponents have no reason to see it as an attack and are just fabricating a controversy. It seems to me that if he were a true uniter like he tries to portray himself, he would have said something disarming like "You know, I made a poor choice of words. I wasn't even thinking about Sarah Palin when I said that, but I can see how it could have been interpreted as a dirty attack." Instead, he chose to escalate it.

Thanks, Darkdog; I echo your sentiments....

This comment about the lipstick is getting old.

Cheney said it a couple of years back in regards to Kerry, McCain has mentioned it, Palin says it and now Obama says it and get's jumped on.

If they are going to continue with the lipstick comment--it makes me wonder how stupid this election is becoming?!

Both camps will be getting down and dirtier in the coming days so brace yourselves! Hopefully, they will both address the issues we all want to hear about.

I agree. It getting stupid. Every four years or so, we hear how they are going to run a clean campaign, but it never happens. As it is, I'm unhappy with both candidates. I'm not for McCain or Obama, but I'll vote for the person that most alligns with my views and hope for the best.

I have a friend who will push President McCain in front of a bus and that should about take care of things for this country. :giggle: Would that ease your mind any?

**nodding agreement** Juat another case of "It's okay for me to do it, but if you do it, its wrong!"

To be fair, those previous instances were isolated "lipstick" statements. They weren't made a week after a female candidate used the word and had become identified with it. Very different circumstances.

I still believe Obama's remark probably wasn't a conscious slur but it sure was bad timing. He should have realized that he put his foot in it.

I can say or think what I want because Obama is human being like me and everyone in the world.

Funny, McCain and his people demand Obama to apology Palin for those word when McCain and Palin did guilty the same...

Dems are getting desperate and running scared.

You respond just like Chris.

 Your immature comment remind me of McCain.

FYI: I only see that I´m Liebling and applause that Obama stood up himself at last, that´s all. I really has no clue why you act childish to compare me with him. It could be something wrong with you? :hmm:
