I don't think if other countries still offers body worn HA but I asked audioglist about it then she told me that don't sell in USA anymore since BTE is just make them to phased out.

If no then there's ENT for discuss about CI
http://www.cochlearamericas.com/Support/find_clinic_search.asp

Hope helpful

No he wears BTE

sounds like he has a progressive hearing loss..n might be a good candidate for the CI..recommend this to him and if he's interested, get him tested to see if he qualifies..i highly recommend the nucleus 24 processor..

why a HA body worn processor?? this isn't the 70's anymore..jeesh..with his progressive loss, no matter what HA's he tries, he might not benefit from them..so a CI might be a good idea..

Body worns aids aren't sold in my country ,either. They are old fashioned.

First I would like to say I'm truly sorry to hear that your boyfriend is unable to hear quite well with his hearing aids but I do believe he may have a better chance on getting a CI, but before you do anything, talk to him first and see what he wants, it has to be his choice and his alone unless he wants your opinion on this cause sometimes things get heaten up in a relationship when the other side hasn't walked a miles in his shoes yet, as I understand that you're hearing, so to help him is to allow him to decide what he wants to do first and then go from there together as a couple...

I wish you both lots of luck and please do keep us update on this...

ummmm I got a question for you.. Is Body Worn Hearing aids the same as Cochlear Implants? :dunno:

No. Body worn is basically a style of wearing a device. So you can get a body worn hearing aid and a body worn cochlear implant. It is simply a device that is worn on the body usually in a harness of some kind. The other style you can have is a behind the ear hearing aid or cochlear implant. Then again with hearing aids you can have those poppit things that go into the ear canal, which are heavily marketed to old people for their supposed hiding powers.

He's so stubborn, His parents started talking to him about "Making some changes" and he wouldn't listen so his mom asked if I would talk to him and I did, I asked him what he truley wants and what he thought would work best and I told him he needed to start making decisions...and he told me that he doesn't know what he wants and that his life has been stressful, and he's worried that he's hurting me...I just wish he'd just worrying about me, and start thinking about his future a little more
