Non-smoker jailed for attacking deaf smoker

im sure hearing people need know what best to leave deaf people alone! and dont harassment or more! if got pretty serious they will files to police or throw to jail for lifes! have proves bruise anybody!

Ouch for the deaf guy who got hit for just smoking in the spot? Jeez but at least the guy got 2 yrs in jail .. good that ought to teach him a lesson for doing that! but it didnt happened in USA. it happened in England, in case u are curious where ? :)

Recently I went to a party in a hotel's convention center in downtown Vancouver, and one guy got drunk and smoking the cigar, nobody punch him in the face except for the service man went to him and asked to discard the cigar.

I think that hearing guy are too overreactive over the smoking, which are nothing, especially it's outside. It's like punching someone who talking on the cell phone in the library.

that made me gulp I have to watch out for my back if I go to bus stops and deal with pissy people if I smoke at bus stop... and yeah they set new law no smoking at ALL bus stops and near light rail train too... sheesh oh well good for hearing guy cuz he should not jump to the conclusion with a deaf person IF he ever runs into the problem again he have to learn to use pen and paper if want to tell a deaf person like me to stop smoking...

But one problem how would the hearing know that the person is deaf or not. They dont understand also most of the deaf ppl dont wear hearing aid which I have notice some dont wear.

My best advise is to ask the person to stop smoking if not reply then tap on the shoulder. That the best way to go about.

I myself have asthma and cannot go near the smoker at all. Otherwise I would have attack. So that why I had my inhaler with me when I went to Ohio and NYC. :D Not only me have problem with it but my son too.

I was at Angel and RR's house and there was ppl who smoke and I sometime ask them to move somewhere else or I moved. It works that way very well. Sure there was a very nice respect. :D

oh my gosh!

oh my gosh!

Well, into the reality, if I see someone was talking on the cell phone in the library, or lighting the cigarette up in the library, or bringing the foods/drinks in the library, or someone was too loud in the library, I would just ignore it and let those who work in library took responibilities to inform them politely. I would be just other people who have to follow the rules, or ignore it if I can.
