I had ordered new Canon PowerShot SX1 IS Digital Camera. The feature is
10.0 Megapixel, 20x Optical Zoom 2.8" Swiveling, and LCD 1080 HD Video Recording. I will wait to get package of it soon before traveling to Las Vegas and Arizona on June.

Looks fabulous! What is this going for, $$ price wise? I still have my trusty Canon Rebel XT which I adore, but it doesn't have the sophisticated recording features as shown above.

Price List is $599. Newer camera is starting on April. I really want Nikon D90 with 18-200mm zoom lens but it s too costly over $1,500.

Canon PowerShot SX1 IS and Canon PowerShot SX10 IS are same features but SX1 IS is HD recording only. If you have regular tv set, you can get PowerShot SX 1S camera. It costs $399.

I have always thought rather highly of the higher-end Canons. I do like the Nikons as well, but they ARE more expensive! The Canon Rebel XT has always served me well -- I've done many professional photoshoots with it, and clients have always been happy with the end results. Of course, editing in Photoshop helps! :)

Your camera is nice. I had heard that newer EOS Rebel T1i EF-S includes HD video recording. Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1i

I just got new Canon digital camera last Wednesday. Awesome Camera. I was excited that some of the image quality from the DSLRs would be combined with the convenience of a point and shoot. While the features were all quite nice, HD video, 20X zoom, RAW capture, etc. the image quality was terrible in anything.

Don't you mean terrific? Terrible is a negative word. :P

I have Canon Powershot A590 IS 8 megapix camera.. I love this camera, It boots up very quickly and ready to take pix.. it have many automatic image selections and movie shots. I figured out how to use Manual setting. At first, the shots were terrible until I realized I have to increase shutter speed and adjust the amprature. finally I was able to have clean shot with light meter built in to balance.

Maybe you might want to figure out on its settings that would have made camera terrible to terrific.

Did you press "1/2" way on button to allow camera to adjust and focus image before you press fully to make snapshot??? It could be that your camera have two level snapshot button, soft press and hard press. Most professional cameras like mine (mine is semi-professional) have 1/2 way to auto adjust and then press deeper to get a shot. Give it 2 or 3 seconds to get best pix.

My camera did extremely well on Macro shot (shot less than 10 inches). I did have very crisp clean shot of newsprint and family photos on albums. My dad told me that I did really impressive job on that. Just turn off the flash and set Macro then take pix. Though the pix of newsprint or anything print seem tiny or unreadable, just blow it up few time bigger and you'll see a very clean crispy image of the prints. It even can 'see' pores of your skins just a foot away. You'll have to use 8 megapix or larger to be able to blow it up to very close image.

With Canon or any professional or semi-professional brand cameras, you don't always need a flash. All you need to do is to let Camera adjust image then take snapshot if it's in the normal lit room for a natural photo. Photo without flash seem cleaner and more colorful than one with flash.

I have taken photography back in Junior Highschool back then and uses to have a professional Rollei 35mm camera. I have taken pix during dusk without flash and picture appeared as it was a sunlight still up even the sun was already down. I used to make "ghost" pictures or double or triple image pictures on one film.. I used to be very good on that. I no longer have Rollei camera.

Just read instruction and play around with functions of your new camera. You'll discover more of useful features...

Got it??

Time to retire your third camera

I had an interesting conversation with a friend last night about his Nikon and zooms lens. I don't remember what the zooms was, but he was really disappointed in the lack of sharpness. He says the zooms is so heavy that it can't "stay still", even on a tripod, so it can't focus 100% correctly. My zooms is 300 and I do remember his was higher, so that's too bad he's not happy with the zooms for what he paid for it.
