Hello! :wave:

I'm new here, hope I'm posting this message correctly! Visit my profile, and you'll learn a bit about me.

I was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease a little over a year ago, and I'm hard of hearing in both ears. My hearing began declining about 5 years ago and continues to worsen. I'm learning ASL, and I hope to learn and receive some encouragement from this forum.

I live near Chattanooga, Tennessee, am in my 50's, am married, and have 2 sons.

many folks in here also happen to be in same situation as you....I originally joined because I wanted to know understand more about Deaf culture and help me communicate with Deaf people in my area, because I think cultural understanding generally and ASL so important....in the last month or two I went to husband's <hoh>audi and happen to find out I have a <mild>hearing loss too.

Welcome. I also suffer from Meniere's. It is a pretty big club, unfortunately.
 
Welcome to AllDeaf, rosecottage. If you don't find encouragement here, you're not paying attention. There are some truly wonderful and supportive people that lurk around here. :)
