Have you seen the new Mac mini?

Are you a Mac user?

What is your opinion?

I have Mac and PC. My Mac is old (and it was hit by lighting once), so I am thinking about a new one.

I've mostly been a PC user. However, my very first computer was a Commodore 64 (remember, those?). We got it when I was still in HS, I think? :dunno:

Yeah, they just took a regular Mac machine and resized it...not too surprising as the 30 inch Mac moniter

That's an interesting way of putting it. As the years go by, Mac hard drives get smaller and Mac monitors get bigger. ;)

It's kinda like saying... "As the years go by, brains get smaller and egos get bigger." ;)

I use my iMac for graphics work and text production, so I would prefer to have a larger monitor. The older I get, the harder it is to see image details on small monitors.

I use my PC and laptop for web surfing, email, on-line ordering, etc. If my iMac was connected to the internet I could probably do without the PC.

The problem is, Mac is sooooo expensive, and I can't get good local tech or supplier support. :(

Yeah that's so true, Macs ARE expensive. I'm considering getting the mini because it's the cheapest option available and the fastest Mac I can afford. It can plug into PC monitors, so it'll save me a fair bit of money.

same here!! :thumb:

i use my emac for my graphic work, etc.. and the dell for web serfing, email, etc.. so i use both computers at the same time since i have a router... i love it.. it confuses everyone when they see me on at two different sns.. at the same time.. :giggle:

i am tempted to get a g5.. i heard they are MUCH BETTER THAN THE PCs.. sheesh.. AND someday i plan to get a powerbook laptop.. and like you.. i like having bigger images( and icons as well) too.. (sigh) we are aging.. grrr! lol
so personally, i prefer the mac over the pc cuz it is much easier to use.. i know many people would object to that.. lol.. oh well!! (shrugs)

As I was snooping around and spotted this thread so I came into this one and suspect it was all opposite of Big Mac burger... oops it was MAC solid thing

I still love PC more than Mac.
Even though I have a laptop, but
I still prefer PC than a laptop.

So true! In our home office we have two large desks side-by-side. The Mac is on one, and the PC on the other. I have a chair on wheels so I can just roll from one to other.

I have a wireless router so my PC and my HP notebook (which is downstairs) are on-line. My iMac Ethernet fried from the lightning, so it is no longer on line (boo, hoo). That is one reason why I want a new one.

(Yes, I had surge protection, but that doesn't stop lightning.)

Um... a laptop could be either PC or Mac.

For example, Apple produce iBook and PowerBook computers, which are laptops and Mac. The rest of the other companies like Dell, Gateway, IBM, HP, Compaq, etc are all PC.

Ah, look like Reba is a Mac geek, just like me! :)

Though, I use both PC and Mac everyday, but I prefer the Mac platform overall due to its powerful OS (OS X) and its integrated softwares.

Yeah, I have Gateway PC (I will get a new Dell soon )
and I also have another PC laptop from IBM...
At my former employer site, I used a few PCs (Dell).

Admire about MAC platform cuz of OS and low risk to receive virus/worm/trojan whatever u name it. I heard Mac OS have similiar language to Linux.

I would love PC more if many programs let me choice Linux or any OS over M$. I feel growling every time I see alot of programs require to have M$ Windows. Feel that M$ is full of it and selfish company.

Actually, that new Mac mini was developed to compete with the PC prices. Macs used to be over thousand(s) of dollars, so they decided to develop a CPU tower only at a low cost, without a monitor, keyboard and mouse (you'll have to buy them, too). The goal is to eradicate PC towers and take over their monitors, keyboards and mice. I have had more problems with PC than with my iMac.

Go MAC!!

I like you. LOL.. Reba, zesty, Banjo, too.....
I've had more problems with my PC than I've had with my ol' G3 laptop. Though it was a nice opportunity to learn troubleshooting in that lil recovery console at bootup with Pro Win XP.

I'm saving up for a nice laptop. Go MAC!

Where's the hard drive? Oh, that's right!! It's inside the monitor! It's not about the ego, it is about the smart use of desk space. PC and M$ sucks at it!

/me goes shopping at IKEA for a Mac friendly desk.
