New iPhone 4

Somehow, the word sounds repulsive.

I do love iPhone 4G but hate att.

I like the idea of acquiring of iPhone 4G at this point, but unless AT&T beefs up their invoicing, I might hold out longer (contract expires in early September). Horrible billing practices from them. Past few days, they screwed up and I'm expecting at least two months worth of credit back (they disconnected when they should not have). They already gave me one but stated in a e-mail that they were still going to charge me for the disconnect fee. Horrible.

I love the dual microphone for noise cancellation and the video editing/camera qualities. I got my iPhone 3G because I thought I'd be using it more for music and phone, now it's a bit different and I hope their new data plans don't screw me over (or their lousy crediting system). NetFlix will be arriving sometime this summer and if it includes CC, that's a huge bonus (if NetFlix doesn't keep adding crappy movies).

I also plan on doing some app development with a buddy, and we're testing hardware/software specs; hopefully, we'll get a better look under the hood in the coming days. Android and Symbian are other candidates.

iPhone 4 vs. EVO 4G... fight! -- Engadget

If you put your ear up to the screen, you can hear these two beasts snarling at one another. Hit up the gallery for more shots, along with some iPhone 3G for good measure. Let's see how they stack up on the big stats, shall we?

iPhone 4
--------
Screen: 960 x 640, 3.5-inch
Thickness: 0.37-inch
Primary camera: 5 megapixel
Secondary camera: VGA
Video chat: FaceTime

EVO 4G
------
Screen: 800 x 480, 4.3-inch
Thickness: 0.47-inch
Primary camera: 8 megapixel
Secondary camera: 1.3 megapixel
Video chat: Qik

Not enough for you? We'll have a big comparison of all the "majors" for you shortly.

Now, there's a lot left to learn about Apple's FaceTime video chat service. For instance, they called it "open," but they also only mentioned a zero-configuration iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 calling setup. Meanwhile Qik can make calls between EVO 4Gs, but also stream video live to the web (while the iPhone needs to record and then upload to get "social" using its official apps). No mention was made of the FaceTime call resolution, but given the fact that the front camera is merely VGA, it's probably streaming at the same 640 x 480 that Qik is constrained to in the free service. However, a premium version of Qik for $5 a month lets you go beyond that resolution, using the EVO's higher resolution cameras. Perhaps the largest distinction is the fact that the EVO can stream video calls over 3G or 4G, while the iPhone 4 is constrained to WiFi for the time being. Naturally, we expect other video calling apps (Skype, please?) to crop up on both platforms and give these initial offerings a run for their money.

FaceTime is a wonderful feature, but I wish it would work with existing internet videophones. FaceTime will only work in Wi-FI mode until cellphone carriers work it out to carry FaceTime in 3G/4G modes. I hope to get third party apps like Fring (skype), iChat, etc.

Fring two-way video calls on iPhone over 3G and wifi???

iPhone 4 is freakin' wow.

Rogers Wireless sucks. Ugh

Notice how jerky the whole user interface is on HTC? iPhone is much more smooth and consistent and highly responsive. The animations are much faster and smoother on iPhone.

The fact that Apple changed iPhone OS to iOS is a clear indication that iOS will be installed on future Apple TV and more devices.

The fact I like the idea about Apple rename iPhone OS to iOS, because it appear to be less confuse when I tell someone that I running iPhone OS 3 on my iPod Touch. Doesn't it sound right. So, iOS 4 upgrade on iPod Touch sound pretty much better to speak up.

Is iPhone 4G hearing aid compatible?

not sure if you meant T-coil compatible or something else (I think AT&T will have these details eventually) but I was going through the apple site and found this:

Apple - Accessibility - iPhone - Hearing

I would love it if it had T-coil (hearing aid is not bluebooth compatible, yet) and since 3G doesn't have the mono option, I can't wait to see the quality of having that option on the iPhone 4

Sorry, yes I meant for T-coil

iPhone 4 is sweet! I saw the demo video of FaceTime and it even showed the deaf couple on the end of the video, wow!
