FaceTime look good to me as same like Qik.

Qik has been the Video Chat of choice when it comes to Android, on the latest Sprint EVO 4G, which is the only Android phone with a front camera, feature the app in its home screen (we should expect many phone will come with this feature in a near future). I don’t think Qik stays exclusively on this platform. Adding iPhone support will provide a significant boost to the app. No statements received from Qik for now.

It is not clear, however, if Apple allows other competing apps play on the iPhone or when Steve Jobs said, we will use open standard, he meant iPhone 4 users can video chat with Skype or Qik running on other devices.

Thank you for info, Evo Dragon. But Evo 4G's Qik will be to charge $5.00/mo soon. Fring is free for any mobile.

Aww.. Qik looked better big video and FaceTime, too .. Yeah, I have Fring, too. It looked okay to me and smaller video (not fullscreen)...

Yes indeed... amazing resolution and im surprised how usable the facetime is. Truly exciting!

And the best part is: "In fact, we managed to squeeze more than 38 hours -- yes, 38 hours -- of life out of a single charge using the phone as we normally would...We're talking calls, some gaming, lots of push email and calendar invites, playing music over Bluetooth in the car, and just general testing (like downloading new apps, rearranging icons, tweaking settings). We went from 10:30AM on a Saturday morning till 1:00AM on Monday without needing to charge the phone. "

Exactly... it's the whole package that truly counts. I LOL at people who say, "Mine got bigger screen.." yeah... with lower resolution, shorter battery life and it's damn ugly and bulky!

iPhone is one of the best well designed phones - it's smooth, elegant, industrial, compact, and stylish all the way.

mm if we use fling app on iphone 4 as facetime and it should hit greatly because 3g should work without wifi.. so it should haven't problem? right?

Just use Wi-Fi router is good speed and good quailty video..

3G? sometime, choppy and blurry.. (depend your area)

4G? best video quailty but, it will eat my battery up as drain..

But, I'm not experience with iphone 4 yet. Wi-Fi router is recommended for FaceTime.

Yes. battery life is longer. Wow. My iphone 3GS use email messages, facebook and some links between 6 am and 9 pm without needing charge battery. Never use IM. I will get new iPhone 4 to take test how longer.

I am on AIM 24/7 - battery doesn't drain much, because I don't use it much, lol.

Yes, WiFi signal is stronger than 3G. I will plan to buy wireless access point for my work to use FaceTime video chat when getting new iPhone 4 next July.

Also, you can go to public library has free wi-fi hotspot. you can sit and relax with your iphone 4 for video chat anytime. lol
 
I am guessing in order to use facetime with Wifi, certain ports on the router need to be unblocked, which will be a no go at some public places.

How else is the port mapping for streaming data going to be done?
Might be through UPnP which is from microsoft.

Plus I have been told from a friend via facebook - some starbucks provide free WiFi now.

A trial test would be the solution to find out if these certain ports needs to be unblocked however I doubt it would work.

Right, mostly libraries or some public places blocked porn streaming in Wifi.
