Hi all,
I'm Anthony. I've lurked occasionally for some time now (about a year) and find I relate to many of the posts.
I have a moderate to severe hearing loss in the mid-to-high frequencies. I was mainstreamed, mostly without hearing aids (they stopped forcing me after elementary school). I did well academically, but socially, I was an outcast. Ran away, dropped out, ran way again, and eventually ended up at Gallaudet when I was 20.
I went to Gallaudet for 2 years and then transferred to RIT (though I consider DC my home now). I'm still there now; I should graduate in 2 years . I married at 20 and recently divorced. I'm 24 now.
A lot of new beginnings are happening now. The crummy adolescence combined with getting married at such a young age kind of prevented any sort of social life. Now that much of that is behind me, i'm looking forward to a lot of new (and exciting) changes.
Look forward to chatting
