Howdy Ya'll

:wiggle: Hi...my name is Amy. I'm new on this forum and it looks cool. I'm 33 years old, mother of 2 children, from Texas, and nearly divorced. I have hearing loss since birth (oxygen deprived and ototoxic). I am a certified EMT and hoping to find others that have worked in the medical field with the hearing loss like me. Both of my kids are hearing. I have never learned to sign as I have being oral all my life. I just know the alphabet sign. I am a fluent lip reader since I was 2 years old. Hoping to find some friends here. Take care...

Amy

Hi Amy,

I'm sorry to hear about your divorce, and it is nice to hear you're a certified EMT , do you work in one now and what do you do? and glad to hear you have 2 children, we have a parent forum here too in case you would rather to discuss about anything related to your children and I'm a divorce mother of 3 boys and they're hearing as well too....Great to have another parent here!...

Btw, Welcome to Alldeaf, and I hope you'll enjoy your stay here... ;)

Hello &

Thanks

Thanks Punkywolfy...

Thanks Angel...I am still certified and can go back to working on the ambulance anytime. Right now, I'm in a hard spot as my husband left me and I have two children to take care of (son is 5 and daughter will be 3 in June). The hours in the small town that I just moved to requires 24 hour shifts. I can't work that as I don't have a babysitter. I admire you having 3 kids and being single. My husband doesn't see them much as he lives in Massachusetts and we are in Texas. In the future, I plan to go to paramedic school. Thanks again for the welcome here.

There is another EMT but I cant remember what is name of AllDeaf's User ID.

Welcome to AD and enjoy the posting

Oh really?

Thank you MizzDeaf... I wasn't sure if I would be the only EMT here... Hmm.

G'day Amytxn4!

Welcome to AD, and I hope you'll enjoy yourself.
Good luck with your studies. I hope you'll achieve your goals. :)

Cheers!

Hey, glad to see you here! This place is a LOT more interesting then the other place...I kinda wish we had a chat, thou!

Thanks again...

Thanks rjr2006, tweetybird, Miss-delectable, and deafdyke!

I thought this might have a chat room but I guess not. This is a pretty interesting forum...

Another Texan

Hello from San Antonio. Welcome to AD. I've been posting since January and this is a pretty good bunch - most of them most of the time. :)

Give me a yell if you're close to SA and I'll let you know about any events coming up. The biggest one I know about is NAD (Nat'l Assoc. of the Deaf) in Austin June or July.
