New hearing aids

I get new hearing aids this year, but I don't know what I want. I was looking at resound but reviews on them were not so good. I was also looking at oticon new opn which came out this year. I am going to talk my audie next week. What hearing aids do you have or want?
 
I wear Oticon Alta 2s - not the pro version. If it helps you to know this, I have a mild hearing loss in my left ear and a moderate-moderately severe loss in my right. When I started out wearing hearing aids 3.5 years ago, I only used one HA in my right ear because I had only a slight loss in my left ear at that time. To me, Oticon Altas sounded the most like my "natural" hearing so things sounded very similar between my aided and unaided ear at that time. Oticon Altas and Alta 2s are the only HAs I've known, so I can't give you a comparison with any other brand. My audiologist wears the opn. She has a bilateral moderately-severe to severe loss and thinks the opns are a game-changer. She said she's hearing better than she has in years since she changed to the opn BTEs. I have Oticon Chili. They're ok. I've had Oticons over the years more than any other brands. Phonak was terrible for me, Widex was ok (I can't remember which ones I had). Not sure what I will have next- I tend to go something like 7-10 years between hearing aids lol.

Nope, not getting them next time.
 
I have Phonak too, I'm never buying it again. I have bilateral reverse hearing loss so it's difficult for the hearing vendor specialist to adjust the sound to my preference. I'm going to buy Oticon (next year), I need to save up $4,500. Right now I'm paying off my school loans. I used to owe 48k, now I'm down to 8k (almost there!).
 
I have oticon acto, and I hate them so much. But they are 5 years old and the cheapest thing my parents could find. I got them for my apd and moderate hearing loss. Now I am at severe to profound depending on ear drum placement. I talk to my audie tomorrow about a good option.

I have a reverse slope loss as well. I wear a pair of Oticon OPN. The fitting formula Oticon uses (VAC+) is supposed to be the easiest to fit correctly to a low frequency hearing loss. I don't have much to compare to as I lost my hearing suddenly and only trailed one another pair before the OPN, but they are pretty good IMO.
 
cool! I'd be interested in how you feel about it. I just looked at the page for the Opn.... size 312 battery? That's the teeniest one available I think... "discreet"..... listen ya hearing aid makers! I don't CARE about discreet! I want bigger! Power! A battery I can y'know...SEE! (the size 13 are doable... barely...).

Hm.. for mild, moderate or severe. (mine is profound).

I went with the bigger model then their standard model on their web page, which are RIC (Mini). I like the BTE style so I don't lose them and the batteries on that one is Size 13 which I also like more.
