New BlackBerry 8830 at Sprint?

I heard that they are selling blackberry 8830's with Sprint with a $29.99/month plan, but I don't see anything on SprintRelaySupport.com.SprintRelaySupport.com. I would suggest that if you want a 8830, that you contact your Sprint Relay rep at Sprint Relay Support Center.

Hmm can I trade the 8703e for the 8830?

You'll have to ask them reps, I don't have any idea, though when I did ask in the past they said no trade-ins.....

I don't know if the 8830 is really all that better than the 8703e. I bet if anything the 8830 is more expensive than the 8703e.

Hummmmmmm GPS and have to pay extra per month why would I want to do that. I brought my own GPS nav. for 400 and no monthly fee. I used it few times and I love it. It help alot.

Ahh, you expect that GPS is for free? Unfortunate, its NOT offical free!
If you want the GPS on the BB, the $9.99-$19.99 month payments you make. That's why I prefer using BB map as such google map, yahoo map, other maps over GPS. Because map is for FREE! :thumb:

Take a look at this AD thread;

Anyone use GPS Receivers?

I'd like to know what GPS unit you're using, and a little bit more about your experiences in using it. I.e., was the satellite reception good? Directions and route-planning top-notch? Etc.

I'm eyeballing the Garmin Nuvi 350, but I can wait a while before committing to a GPS purchase. (I already returned the Garmin StreetPilot C330, as I wanted a slimmer model like a Nuvi, for example.)

Well, let's see.... your phone is much cheaper than a GPS device, so you've already saved money there. Second, I bet there's a ton of features that the phone GPS offers that your nav unit doesn't -- sync with your address book, for one -- I have friends who have contacts with business addresses but haven't visited yet, and can navigate there with their phone GPS. But in any case, it's not the GPS you're paying for -- it's the program, Telenav, that you're paying $9.99 a month for, and Telenav continually updates their software to make it better. You can use probably any ol' program on the BB to get GPS, and maybe it's free (Mapquest Navigator comes to mind, it had a 30 day trial, but after that you had to pay). None of my BB Google programs had GPS usage.

Blackberry Vs. Sidekick

Does anyone know if BlackBerry is better than Sidekick? Due to coverage areas and so forth. I noticed my SK3 doesn't get coverage in certain areas whereas Sprint (BB) does get coverage and signals.

It's pretty well known that T-Mobile is the weakest of the carriers in both speed and coverage, which is why it has the fewest subscribers of the top 4 companies in the US.

If you have an 8703e, just download Blackberry Maps from RIM. It will work with the internal GPS for FREE. You do not need to pay extra for Telenav unless you want the extra features it comes with.
