You are beating around the bush. Of course, it is one of the Ten Commandments... but there are other commandments including "Do not steal"... and God forgives people who steal... why can't He forgive people for mocking His name either? You are going way off topic with its relevance to your posted article, which suggests that God doesn't forgive people who mock his name and that He kills them. I am well-versed in the Bible, and don't agree with the threats that came from your article. If you try to be a bible thumper without validated claims, I will dispute them because what you are saying may only be half-truths. Your "half-truths" may hurt anyone interested in becoming Christians by convincing them that Christianity is based on fear.

It was written during the time Moses led the Jewish people out of Egypt and parted the Red Sea, c. 1466 B.C. During that time Moses also brought several plagues on Egypt. But after Moses crossed the Red Sea, he and his people found refuge near Mount Sinai. Moses went up the mountain alone, and God himself inscribed the Ten Commandments on two tablets of stone. That commandment to not take the Lord's name in vain is the third commandment in Judaism, but the second in some Protestant denominations.
 
It's true enough not to mock God ever. I don't know what to say about the thread of those famous ppl who mocked and died for it. Only God knows, not you and I.

Just say regardless a bit about the thread... but ask yourself a very good question here:

Which do you fear God or Devil?

Fear is what makes many people try to be good. I see fear in this thread - if you mock God, you will die! That is fear and it has worked on millions of people who turned to God out of fear, not genuine wanting to learn about His Word.

Dont get me wrong - I am a Christian and truly do believe in God & Jesus, but I dont believe in putting fear in other people's minds is the way to go. People will simply laugh or scoff at you out of fear. Jesus never put fear in anyone so why it is up to us human beings to try to control people by fear???!

Actually, there were three tablets, with a total of 15 commands. Moses accidently (or on purpose) dropped the third one and hid it....

As for me, I am MORE fear of God than the devil. But, there's 2 different fears -- one is on earth and one is in Heaven at Judgment. While on earth, my knees don't tremble when trustin'/faith in God with all my heart, mind, and soul. But, when I die and go to Heaven -- standin' before God at Judgment to review my life... my knees will TREMBLE with fear. Because, His Word is very strong and powerful ... and, it can fly straight to the heart to REVEAL who I really am. My soul will become HIS Business and that I have no way to control over my soul.

It's why we have to be careful with what we say to non-Christian people while livin' on this earth, because of what we SAY and ACT will be written ( record ) for God to review.
Same idea with court. Judge can sentence a person to jail after reviewin' his/her history ( crimes ).

NO!! I am NOT afraid of God. God protects us from Devil. I am VERY AFRAID of Devil. God is very loving and very wonderful so I am NOT afraid of God.

God created the devil and then he protects you from it....

I think those kind of Christians (like cyberred, jazzy, momoftwo, etc) are spiritual cowards. They fear God so much that they won't think for themselves.
 
I fear God. That word fear I use meaning highly revere God, bec He's holy and justice. Like the Lord says " Fear the Lord" meaning respect/revere Him. Its not mean scare of Him, but the rebellion will fear with tremble. Many times, the Lord said "Fear not" its not the same as "Fear God", either you fear God as revere or fear of God by being afraid, these are two different meaning. Like the song from Amazing Grace, " Twas grace that taught my heart to fear(honor/reverance), and grace my fear (scared/worry/anxious) relieved; how precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed!". As some of yoy said that be afraid of the devil, which we shouldn't, God called us to battle against the devil. Resist the devil. Don't think about youself or being bigot about yourself, as God called us to be humble. That is the probelm so much confusion about all of this. Very true, I like what Thuesus (spelled wrong?) hehehe, as he pointing it out. Watch how Jesus talked, watch how Nathan shared with David. Yes, we should have a big heart for the people to know Him, but not stuff em on their throat. Yes, we can share our view of beliefs. but be cautious how we share.

NO, I am NOT fear of God. God is SO VERY WONDERFUL. You should be afraid of Devil because Devil is SO BAD.

I am NOT like christlovesdeaf, cyberred, eaglecherokee, reba, etc because I don't know very much about the Bible. I already met Jesus (God) in my dream in 7 1/2 years ago. Oh gosh, God/Jesus as ONE is VERRRRRRRRRRRRY LOVING like I am sooo attached to Him like He is my Father or like my parent. I prayed to God for His answers and I witnessed that it happened right there. So, I am NOT afraid of God. I am a very good listener to God and I am a VERY GOOD listener to people as always (I mean all in my life).

I am very sad that you called us "spiritual cowards". I am NOT coward. I am not very regilious person....I am a HUGE faith in God and do what I am supposed to do and it's proper. You are very unkind to me and others. I feel very sorry for you and I pray for you as well.

Hey, sweetie, its ok, all of us learn everyday, and I feel comfortable for not anybody compare yourself and me, winks. And I don't like compare myself of how much I know and others, I learn everyday just like you, knowledge can be different, but same level is you and I have heart and desire to know Him personally everyday, that's what God honor in that. Smile. And hope you feel relieve by seeing yourself and me of the heart for God.

Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus. Many have died but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.

P.S: If it was a joke, you could have sent it to everyone. So are you going to have courage to send this?. I have done my part, Jesus said "If you are embarrassed about me, I will also be embarrassed about you before my father."

No one mess with Jesus... BECAUSE, he willing died for us ! ! Because he loves us.

Its hurt me to see some people make fun of Jesus.. I am not happy but Let God take care of them...

If, u really deep understand about "God" then u will get it...

I know.. some ppl said.. "ok if Jesus loves us then why he allow let some ppl be killer, murderer, children died etc......."
Again, God have a reason why ... that isnt mean- He dont love us.. no no... just have a reasons and plans for our future..

I know that is very complex.. but again, just read the bible.. u will utd...
