I was in high school at the time. We turned the tv on a little before 9:30 and watched everything from there LIVE for the rest of the day...our teachers didn't bother teaching and told us that while very disturbing/upsetting/scary, it was an event that our children and grand children will read about in history books
I moved to NYC for graduate school and watching old footage of the attacks really hits a little closer to home now
i was 13 years old when this happen. I was on a field trip to new york actually visiting the world trade centers and the accompanying buildings surrounding it. We we're learning about the history and heritage of new york!
My sister was among the field trip -e's and when the first plane hit, everyone began to panic and scatter around. My sister ran inside the world trade center 2 and i chased after her, telling her we need to go and get out of here because it is not safe! Before i was able to get her, security guards and other personal was getting all the children out of the building. Fortunately, there was other children in there on a trip and they thought i was among/part of them! Anyways, she never left that building that day because she was scared. Whenever she got scared, she would always run and hide and she was really hard to find..
I hate my self for not going back to find her everyday. I was scared and i was young. I love you linda! you'll always be in my heart and on this day, you shall be remembered by millions, if not personally but by all the prayers, amen sis!..

As a friend mentioned on another forum, let's not forget the Pentagon and the Flight 93.

Loveblue meant to say that we should also be reminded about Pentagon and Flight 93. We knew it happened on 9/11 but it was not mentioned in those photos or post(s) in this thread.
