need some info: Why are VPs free to deaf/hoh?

Technically, we are the taxpayers. Anyone who's paying taxes, whether in the form of state or federal taxes and on phone bills, we are the ones paying these taxes that cover the relay services. Deaf or hearing.
Techically, yes - that's correct and I wish this would be similar to our system down here where our VRS service (currently in trial) that can be imbursed for the service of the deaf and hearing impaired. A good theory, by the way. :)

AlleyCat is right...my friend's mother became deaf later and got VP. Then, she passed away 2 years ago but my friend wanted her dad to keep it so she could talk to him although her dad doesnt know sign language. However, her dad recently told her that he got an email from Sorenson about his lack of use of VRS and that they may stop VP services for him. I dont know if that means they will ask him to return it or what.

Sorenson FAIL!

Wow, interesting stuff to share. We have some purple and sorenson reps here on the board right? Could they verify any of that?

I am a Purple rep but I can't verify for Sorenson weather or not if it's true. It's against FCC rules not to take anything from customers since it was given to them for free.

Jake: Make that 2. Sorenson double fail...

Some hearing customers who know ASL, got free SVP. They are fake to become deaf. Sorenson are dumb.

Like I said, I dont know if my friend meant that Sorenson was going to take the VP away from her dad. She just said he recieved an email from him about not using VRS for over a year and that they may have to stop services. I need to ask her again for more clarification.

Yep, double fail... and I'm VP Communications Manager and rep down here :cool2:

LOL you guys -- you never suspect my scarsam here...:cool2:

Me too. I would love to have the mvp. I do speak, and my asl is getting rusty. It would be nice to sign with folks on the mvp, but now I am learning the computer/camera system and I use i711 for more important calls like to businesses and such. It is nice to use them because I can print out a copy of the conversation for clarifications.
