The WRT54g router will definitely not work with the VP (except possibly with the DD-WRT Firmware mentioned above). I've got one right here and I have been through this many times on this board. The D-Link suggestion is the best way to go, but you could do Modem to Sorenson Router to VP. The WRT54G can then be configured as a wireless access point and plugged in to the Sorenson router to give you wireless access. I just decided to buy a D-link wireless router and not bother with the Sorenson one. That's what I suggest for you.

Nope. Does not work with this router (WRT54G v.2) This router is not compatible with VP -100 or 200. I don't need any help. I have been using a D-Link router and it works fine.

Yes, I know some Linksys not work VP-100 / VP-200 but can download freeware DD-WRT to any Linksys Model, will work VP-100 / VP-200, I love DD-WRT becuase DD-WRT have more funcation and options than Linksys' programmer.

Yeah, I downloaded and installed the DD-WRT firmware, but did not try it with VP, since I don't need to.

Wondering if Linksys router will work with D-Link i2eye DVC-100 VP, using T1 connection??

Here is what I have. I have DSL with Speedstream 4200 and a linksys WRT54G. Here is the setup before the VP200 came into the home. Modem was in bridge mode. (Meaning it did not do the logging into the network. It simply provided a way to the network) The linksys router then set to PPPOE to do the logging into the network. This had to be done because the firewall on the modem got in the way of some programs I use. This set up solved those problems.

To save yourself headache. Get rid of Linksys wrt54G. Replace it with Dlink for its videophone friendly. You will see others say that it possible to get linksys to work but from my experinces... A LOT of work to get it simple done when you can just buy DLink router and it will work in 5 minutes or less.

If you have PPOE - means you have DSL modem that has built in router. Avoid this method at all cost. Its not worth it. Get the newest modem as possible. Call your internet provider to replace the modem to newest one on their list. Even mentioned you going to install videophone, they will realized you need newest modem. Just DSL and look up www.portforward.com for listing of routers that work with I2EYE then go around and locate DMZ to finalized the match.

Then call sorenson to touch up the connections if you still not confident with this process.

it will be "hit or miss". Not worth the time and headache to keep Linksys. Even you try DD-TR. still pain in the neck.

BURY LINKSYS! Buy dlink, netgear etc...

This process does not work well and its very complicated for beginner user.

Save them headache.

I dislike Linksys router because it have no DHCP setting. I m former Sorenson installer to install vp with sorenson SR-200 or Dlink DI-604 and add it thought wireless linksys router for several new customer. Working is fine with VP. No problem.

Should use both of SR 200 and Linksys routers.

OK I got it up and running the way I want. Would not work with the linksys I have, even with DMZ set to the phone. Avoid this model of router WRT54G it will not EVER let the phone work 100% No matter what settings you try (tried them all). I do have Version 6 but dont know if that has anything to do with it. Time to Ebay the old one out. Even called Sorenson Tech support. They gave me the access code with no problem. Just asked for it and they gave it to me.

If anyone could, please get this as a sticky or something so people dont fall in trap I did. The only issue it had was not alerting (Ringing) when a call was comming in. It did give a missed call count and told by who. That was the only way to know a call was made to you (when a missed call showed up) The call center would even tell me the call would not go through.

So how did I fix it? I bought a Dlink DIR-625. This is a wireless N router but backwards compatible to G and B. I set the phone to DMZ on this router and it rang when I had the call center test it. Been 2 weeks since we heard or saw it ring. Now the phone is at 100%. Problem solved. Best part is that now my P2P and phone both work together without any issue.

Now setting up the router was a tiny bit of a head ach. I am a computer tech and I had to fight the router for 2 hours. Ended up hardwiring to the computer to make all the needed settings then it was good to go. So here is my set up now. Modem in bridge mode--to-->router doing the PPPOE--to-->all other devices. Kind of strange but the internet seems to go a bit faster with this router. Even though I get the same connection speed and the internet uses a small fraction of it. Oh well wont complain about that. Just wondering why.

Thank you for all your sugestions. Sorry I have not posted for a long time. was out of town and busy. I am running Vonage, computer (wifi), psp (wifi), wii (wifi), VRS and a printer off this router. It is able to keep up with all that.

Now my next challenge. Find a place to learn ASL so I can better comunicate with my son. Gets frustrating with that comunication barrier. Hopefully I can find someone to teach from the kindness of thier heart. After all I paid nothing to learn english. But I still mispell to much.
