I'm trying to get a pager from DeafPager.com I've got an email asking me if I want sidekick 3 or sidekick iD what's the differences between these two devices and I only asked for blackberry 8705 because it was on sale.

SKID have no camera or MP3 player (not sure if I am right or wrong) and SK3 have those. SKID and SK3 is almost similar but SKID looks like SK2 but has SK3 such as roller ball, keyboard, and I am not sure what else.

I prefer BB over those SKID or SK3.

Thank you for your responding, that's interesting, so SKID has no camera to take pictures is that correct? but can I be able to text messaged anyone to a cellular phone is that extra or included?

I like Blackberry too because it's cheaper :giggle:

Yes there is a text msg, Email, AIMs (I think AIM, Yahoo and MSN, but I am not sure. I am sure other ADers will help ya out). Right no camera. Perfect for HS students or some like just simple. I like either SKID or BB. I am not gonna get SK3..too much features on it.

Deafpager sold me, 4 yrs ago, a 2 way communication device that lasted less than 2 months. I've asked them for assistance and they have yet to this date to reply to it. And early this year at Deafnation they've refused to sell us 2 SK3's for our office staff in which I believe theyre going to be afraid of my howling again when they break down.

Deafpager is a great deaf owned company and we have to respect them for what they are but we also should look into other companies that offer the same items as the competition in the deaf community is too weak to maintain high quality products and services from deaf 2 way communication purveyors at this time.

Cheri, I correct you that SKID has no camera, mp3, theme customize unlike sidekick 3's features, that's all.

If you wanted to get sidekick, I suggest you get sidekick 3 over sidekick id. Because you can transfer pictures from your friend email attached to Memory card. that is save your space and time. You can customize your own picture theme on your sidekick 3. So you can take sidekick3 with full packages out of box which is easy for set it up and thats it. However sidekick 3/id's browser is worse and suck than any devices. ;)

If you planned to get blackberry, I want warning you that t-mobile blackberry data plan rate is RECENTLY going up from 29.95 to 39.95 began on september 12, 2007. I suggest you go to get att blackberry offer 29.95 each months or other blackbery carrier services you pick one.. You have to add some apps like muiti IM clients programs, others to customize on BB unlike sidekick 3/id. BB's browser is loading so fast than sk3/id. but its up to you, cheri.

Good luck with your right decisions. :)

As for me, I love the BB8700g with all my hearts. don't ask me why.. ha.

Thanks for your responds, I went for sidekick id because of that I did not want anything fancy, I just need a pager to keep in touch with my kids, family and my friends when I'm out of town, or if I'm not at home. But, thanks for all your inputs thou. ;)

via 8700g~

Cheri, I am glad that your right decision for sidekick id. Because sidekick id is for beginners/ newbies. To completely honest, sidekick's IM clients and QWERTY keyboard are the best festures than bb or any device that's what entitle my truly opinion. Anyway, you will be happy with new toy device. Good luck.

BTW: I advice you add protect equpiment (insurance) on your bill for your SKID. Just my advice without force you that.

Just let you know that boundlesscom.com is same as deafpager.com look at their address are same.

I have no clue on this...

wow, XBGMER is an expert for everything on computer, etc. it's interesting to read his advice here.

I only have a simple mobile phone with pre-card for an emergency...

Finally you got a sk, that means no more borrowing mine....Thanks GOD!

I got my SK3 from Fuse Communications, low prices and I was very pleased with their customer service (they emailed me instead of calling the home phone number to confirm my order, which was nice). They have Blackberries too. Some of my deaf friends have gotten their SK2's from FuseWireless (they were the ones who told me about this website when I wanted to get SK3). Just sharing this if anyone wants to check them out.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind in the future. ;)

XBGMER, and where do I purchase the insurance? If I lost the device the coverage is included at no cost?

Liebling, Ha HA..How so cute! To be completely honest that I amn't expert gadget or else. I just have experinced with sidekick for 5 years. in 2007, I just switched sk to bb things. I am still learning about bb stuffs and how to use, shortcuts etc. you know.. ;) I try my best to answer people's questions or feedbacks.

Yeah, You are smart to use pre-card for in emergency case and save bills.

Cheri, You want to know where you get equipment protect coverage? You can ask retailers at tmobile store in your local about it. or you can go tmobile site is Equipment Protection: repair & replacement insurance against broken ... You want learning more, site is Asurion Insurance Services before you add equip protect coverage on your billing. Good Luck!

Your question that I answer, If your device was lost or stolen, Insurance co definitely will replace your device which is lost or stolen, Unfortunately the deductible you would have to pay! In fact, they will cost you $118 for deductible. No kidding! so i think that is all?

Refused to sell?

Richard, Can you explain what you mean that we refused to sell to you two new Sidekicks? Due to you are existing customer with T-Mobile at this time you attempt to purchase it from us?

What pager model you purchased four years ago?

Fuse Communications is owned by hearing business man and the policy is same as ours. We are doing business with them. Our company is owned by deaf and legal blind person. We hired deaf employee even we donated some of our money to deaf community such NAD, DeafReach, DeafBlind, etc, We sponsor AllDeaf.com in order to keep run and offer free to anyone to use this Web site.

We agreed with you... alot of customers lost or break the device, cost of replacment is at retail price or more. Discount prices are for NEW cusotmer with new activation. So we recommond cusotmers to purchase protection plan from T-Mobile. Customers must purchase protection plan in 10 days or less from date of activation.
