"Mystery Shopper" Money Orders?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. At a job I had years ago there was a white powder that came in the mail and the cops did the same thing. Only difference was they had the fire dept. hose down everyone that was in the store. Good thing I skipped work that day. It ended up being baby powder.

Its decontamination and theres more to it than just "hosing" everyone down.

scrubbing and scrubbing. too bad you can't take your own belonging & clothes with you :aw:

Alright!....It's "baby powder"....the police just called!....3 cop cars are now leaving

I sort of was freeking out and got the Cocoa Butter, just scraching and scratching....

But it's alright!...It's baby powder!...I'll never forget this incident....and they also do have her address in Tucson, Az ....so I know the police there will be in touch with her also....

"I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!™"
You'll probably hit me for making that joke but it's over now right..
Get your friend on the line sometime if the police don't find out first.. see what the heck is going on over there.

I know that. But that is what they did. Just hooked up the fire hose and started spraying.

Then it wasnt done right. Decon showers should have been used and like Jiro said alot of scrubbing and they confiscate your clothes and everything and even the run off from the decon showers has to be saved and put into containers and cant just let it run off into a storm drain that would be extremly bad if it had turned out to be something.

And I'm glad it turned out to be baby powder. You'll know what to do next time, if there is a next time God forbid.

That's just plain scary. Glad it was nothing more than baby powder.

Almost right before I was going to bed...another knock at the door. It was a police officer and about 8 firemen....They all came into the house, and I was thinking..."oh no! not again!"....

They came to "check up on us"....and talked for about 20 minutes, getting other info. ..... one guy did say it was "talc powder or baby powder...and did say that it could be by 1% something else too....and told all of us to make sure we took a bath, washed all our clothes...and to swab down the table with bleach, anywhere the envelope was laying....I did take out all my dining room placemats to the laundry room for washing when the powder fell out on one...

I did ask if the powder was perhaps used to "smudge any fingerprints"....the police officer said it would not matter, they could still get prints....So I really have no idea as to why the big envelope was full of baby powder or talc powder!

I did not sleep well last night and am very tired this AM, got up at 5AM....the police officer before leaving, said he would be back in touch in a few days.

The address was on Marcilynn in Tucson, Az. ....(I don't feel comfortable giving out her name on the Internet).....I should find out if the police have contacted her....as I no longer have her phone number, haven't seen her in several years since she moved to Az.....

The fire department guys were super nice!....

But isn't it "in" to be a Rockin' older lady with those hot guys?

Oh well, if not - we can still look!

Omg !!!....now there is a police car parked out front!...he is talking with my son on the phone....he said we cannot go outside at all!....he said we have to stay inside the house!

He said it's just a precaution!...i dunno how long we will have to stay inside the house!

My god!..i can't believe this!.....am waiting on more information...

So sorry to take so long to get back with you but where the hell are the postal inspectors???? When something like this happens, the police are suppose to immediately call the Postal Inspection Service for an investigation but they drop the ball by doing it themselves. I worked and was qualified as a hazmat specialist for 8 years, so yes the powder could have been placed to "smugge" the fingerprints or coroupt DNA. Neverthelesws, you had a very, very bad experience by allowing the powder to be touch. For all you ADers out there, if you get any mail (package/letter/etc...just anything) that has any color powder loose inside, call 911 immediately and make sure 911 also gets in touch with the postal inspectors, they have a highly train force and equipment just to deal with these situations. Also just for everyones information, many years ago when we had the anthrax scare there were 12 deaf who worked in the Baltimore post office who were not, not, not given information nor the used of an interpreter through the situation that put all workers at risk of death. This building took 3 years to be "cleaned" and we had to sue through EEOC to protect the deaf. Really stupid but let me say postal management does not give a damn at all about the deaf.
