Mystery of Death Valley's Gliding Rocks

I haven't heard of that. Remind me abit of crop circles! It would be interesting to find out how it was moved.

I've been to Death Valley, but did not see this. Very unusual.

I remember reading about that years ago.

An interesting phenomenon indeed!

Wow. That is awesome.

Reminds me of a news clip about a road out in the country near Indianapolis, Indiana where objects were rolling uphill on the hill. It was weird. I need to see if I can find an article on that. I'm sure there is one, if it was on the evening news. Hehe. :type:

yeah, same as a creek here flowing uphill

In LakeWales, Florida there is historic Spook Hill. I grew up near there and went to Spook Hill Elementary School. Your car rolls backward on totally level ground.

Spook Hill

I wonder if anyone has taken the time to use a bubble balancer to determine if the hill is really flat or whatever?

It has been done. It's been tested for years and years. If you put a ball on the road it doesn't move, but your vehicle will. Some scientists came out and really checked it over and I can remember will in the play yard during recess, watching the guys put this big vat of water and watching to see if the water shows up uneven, but it doesn't.

I've seen them on a couple of occasions, the last time being about 20-22 years ago.

Wow. That's cool.

I like paranormal stuff, and even cryptozoology (the study of mystery sightings of bigfoot, loch ness monster, etc). I'm into the mysteries. Not the murder kind of mystery, but the weird kind of mystery.

Me too.

I'm not obsessed with them, but I do like to read about them from time to time.

One time, I got a chain e-mail with an urban legend in it. I looked it up online and read about it. On that site, there was a link on another urban legend. I went there. I kept going and going with every link I came across and realized that there was so much to learn about urban legends. It became an educational experience since it helps me recognize urban legends better. Now, if I get one of those chain e-mails... I just point them to those websites and prove them wrong. ;)

One of my favorite stories is the Philadelphia Experiment. Yep, a movie was made from that story as well. A military ship was performing an experiment on what was supposedly stealth technology. Something went wrong and they disappeared. Rumor has it that they teleported elsewhere for a little bit before teleporting back. To make matters worse, the teleportation caused the ship and people aboard it to shift into different planes of reality. So, when the ship reappeared... a lot of the shipmates were found with their bodies or limbs stuck between bulkheads, walls, doors, etc...

Wow. I'll have to read up on that one.

I don't know why I have this fascination with this particular phenomenon. The Legend of the Beasts of Foxmoor in England. I had saw a bit of this on a science show when I was a kid. And with the internet, the fascination had led me to research on it a bit. It's so cool. The legend is that they giant domesticated-like cats roaming around in the land. Well, I've always loved cats, big or small.

I may be a bit of a weirdo, but I love vampire fiction, especially the good vampires (protagonists, I mean). Hehe.

I saw the movie first as a kid. I didn't understand the movie much, but what got me interested was when I was playing Command & Conquer: Red Alert on the PC. Part of the story involves the Philadelpha Experiment... something between Albert Einstein and Nikola Tesla. It suddenly made me remember the movie and got me thinking about looking it up online. From there, I was fascinated with all the theories behind it. Sounds like one of those big government cover-ups. :Ohno:

Very interesting.
