I got 3 red ring of death, I was like WTF at that and tried fix the power supply, component cable and controller issue, it nothing to help, still 3 red ring of death.

I'm VERY PISSED OFF that can't play Battlefield Bad Company demo today, that's worst luck for me. :pissed:

It's SO hot in room, PPC use too much heat like Power Mac G5, I feel sweat right now.

Xbox 360: Three red lights flash on the Ring of Light

Looks like overheat. Let it to cool down for an hour. If not work then hardware must burn out from overheat.

I don't play it yet, I just start up and it was cool at first time until press power button then became 3 red ring of death and start became more hot after few minutes, also dashboard was crashed after that then reset again and became 3 red ring of death.

It should be hardware failure like some ADers have same problem, like Steel, Derek, sjones and Defmatrixense.

Just called MS and explained about what happened, they are send empty package to my home and will pack it for repair service.

I'm still on 3 years warranty.

3 red lights gets you free repair/replacement. I would hope for a replacement, with HDMI.

lol yup.

Only problem is game saves, it will gonna be mess up due different console ID that cause game saves that had saved in old console then wouldn't load on new console, I hopefully MS will work out with console ID.

The new Xbox360 codenamed "Jasper" will be in Aug 2008 or Sept 2008, it's brand new motherboard and 175 watt power. you will see on box information that say 7-xx-2008 or later. I hope should be on white xbox360 to keep the price down.

Did you take the HD off from the old console? when you will get box from the repairshop, you can put the HD onto new console, that should be fine..

The Memory or flash drive might not be upload to them because the branded ID..

Use recovery account before you can play a games.

Actually, M$ just released the DRM Tool, which allows you to transfer game saves of Arcade games to a new console ID. Interestingly enough, you can only do it once a year, and it has to be done online via PC or a laptop.

I would recommend HOLDING onto your 120GB HDD. I would not trust M$. When I sent my 360 last november, I kept the HDD. Never trust big corporations.

Welcome to the club.

I'm still on my 2nd Xbox so I hope it wont ever happen again.

While Xbox360 got alot of great games, but I have to admit the Xbox360 got the worst hardware EVER made.

ummm, there is only one solution. Get a PS3, no offense. About 85-95% of the Xbox 360 get the RROD(Red Ring of Death) hardware failure and PS3 gets about 1-5% hardware failure. My friend got the Xbox and it got RROD and sent it for replacement only to end getting RROD 3 times and switch to PS3 and he's happy with it.

Well, the reason why a lot of Xbox 360 turn out like that is due to a design flaw in the mainboard. When it gets hot, the mainboard itself bends and when it does, it can crack and all hell will break loose.

They seem to have fixed it since then though. It's just the first 10 million Xbox 360 sold that are subjected to RROD. That's why they extended the warranty to 3 years. So eventually, all of the Xbox 360s from the first couple years will die on their customers.

Not true, Xbox 360 with 90 nm has 33% of hardware failure and under 10% for Xbox 360 with 65 nm, HDMI built-in, MS had confirmed that failure rate has been dropped in some. PS3 has hardware failure that's less than 5% but more failure from software on innocent gamers, usually via firmware update and Sony had released 2.41 to address the issue.

No thanks, I'm not interested in PS3 anymore and used to own but not happy and hardly to use. I prefer Xbox 360 as one console at home, just for me because of xbox live, a lot of deaf gamers, better graphic comparsion and other thing that met my need since PS3 isn't. I'm hardcore fan of EA games, the games have poor on programming for PS3, such as Battlefield Bad Company, Skate and others. When comparsion on graphic for Battlefield, it looks beautiful and bright on Xbox 360 and duller and little darker on PS3.

I'm playing on PC so often and Xbox 360 for other hours, I'm not get other console in anytime, that waste of time for not using it for long time.

Is the area that your Xbox 360 is in... well-ventilated?

I remember when my DVD player stopped working because my room was 90 degrees. :Ohno:

It has nothing with HDD, Xbox 360 use laptop version of HDD that's low heat and low watts, around 2.5 watts or so.

It was PPC (PowerPC) and ATI graphic, PPC use too much heat, that where Mac is used had PPC until Apple switched to Intel due heat issue, delayed of 3.0 GHz and no G5 chip for laptop.

I wish Xbox 360 will use Intel instead of PPC.
