We came in around 11 PM EST last night because she was complaining of stomach pains.
They did a cat scan and discovered an obstruction in her colon. They can't entirely make it out as there was too much shadow to make heads or tails of it. So tomorrow they are going to knock her out and place a snake camera to follow down her colon to see what it is that they're dealing with. They noticed food is not passing down through her colon, so she's on a liquid diet until further notice.
Also, she hasn't been able to urinate since last week Thursday while they did a urine test by using a urine cath to withdrawl urine from my wife. Since then her diaper has been bone dry for a week. She can't voluntarily urinate due to my wife being a renal patient. But, she can "drop it", as it were, if she coughs or when she goes to sleep as her muscles begins to relax, she drops it involuntarily.
Today they withdrew her urine by a cath tube and her urine was brown, so this shows a sign of urinary infection. They took the sample to the lab. So if it's anything that can be treated by medicine, hopefully it will clear it up and be back to her usual self.
Hopefully whatever the obstruction is in her colon, it can be broken up easily non-surgically. But I hope she won't require surgery to remove it.
Keep her in your prayers.
Thank you,
Yiz
