Under Mac OS X spellcheck.

sarcastic - correct

scarcastic - wrong and advised to replace with sarcastic

scarastic - wrong but no advise given.

scarscatic - wrong but no advise given.

Odd - not all misspelling give an advise to replace the misspelling.

Pfff! When I was in high school we used manual typewriters. :giggle:

i did too, and we had computers in the maths dept...it was 'reserved' for geeks and gamers...yes these did exist in 1983, mostly because we didnt like idea of spending 20c (not quarters ours was 20c coins so we were slightly luckiers 1 extra game to play for every dollar...but computer games getting more appealing....

Apple 2e was popular right up to about 1985 then cheaper computers with colours over took it, like Atart and Commodore 64...for the next 5 years or so, then Atarti ST fior a while (i wasnt in computers at that time) then PCs (was IBM compatiables back then) i got back into computers in 1995...then again 2002 till now, my first computer was back in 1983, i bought it myself after saving up from doing hoiday work at the horseraces

My classes also used manual typewriters.

In the school year of 1957-58 one of my uncles gave me a Woodstock that he had originally gotten used for his son. He got it completely checked over and cleaned, etc. for me. He thought it was 25 or 30 years old then! It still works fine with a very balanced action to how much pressure each finger takes. Just the rubber in the platen is so hard it might as well be metal.

My class was the last one to use typewriters. Early 90's. We had those Macs in the lithography class but we still had to take a typing class old school style. Required for all freshmen.

We didn't get typing until Junior year and then it was mainly those taking business courses. An aunt had already taught me the keyboard the year before at home. Of course, NO computers around at all.

My first work Mac.

My first work Mac.

From the looks of the wall in the background of the photo you attached to this post, you would enjoy my house. It has pre-finished steel walls so all you need to put up clippings is magnets.

Heh, heh. That was at work (shared office space) almost 20 years ago. I don't post things on my home walls.

The only place I post notes is on my back door to the garage. It's a steel security door, so I use magnets there for reminder notes.
