It happened last 2 weekends....

I was trying to find some words to break news, but i was so wrap up with kids to take care of and deal with emotions and overwhelmed..

My son Mack went to next door boy, he is 12 (almost 13).. he has some guns, paintballs and pellet guns which his dad is firefighter.. his son is sweet boy but need alot of TLC.. since his parents divorced couple years ago.. and living with dad.. anyway..

I warned my son Mack... not to play with guns many times.. even if some kids playing with anything guns, walk away... or STAY away.. but this time.. his curtiousity tempted him.. and played with pellet gun in the garage.. bad idea to play with it in there..

The boy.. had it in his hand and were playing around, aim, and shoot at some wood or at things.. bad idea.. cuz it can richocett and hit you or even, hit some dangerous immflamble cans (thinner paint, gas, &etc) that can start the fires.. so he was shooting at the wood.. it richocetted to Mack's chest...

I cant explain the first 5 mintues of my emotions.. I tried to remember what did i do... all I remember.. I saw blood in his chest, said he got shot, I freaked out... grabbed him in the van and drove to urgent care.. (we were new to this place and dont know where hospital is).. urgent care is only less 2 min from here.. they took him in and examined him same time called police and ambulance to take him to ER...

I cried and scared... some nurses and female police comforted me.. all they said, that he is going to be ok.. how did they know!!.. Mack was screaming with pain, and cried.. and scared if he going to die..

after they took him to ER.. I met them.. they called an interpreter.. Police came in to get story straightened cuz other boy accused Mack that he "has" the gun.. but Mack said.. that the boy has it... also were playing with gas to make fire too.. I was like.. wtf and want to shut out the crazy world.. but we cant do that.. Police examined the shirt, to look for pellet bullet hole... he couldnt find it.... The dr told us that the bullet was hit but didnt go through skin, just like it bounced off.. Police was very puzzling cuz the pellet bullet is bigger than bb pellets.. then He looked at Mack's shirt.. and he go like "gasp" and put shirt in fold.. He said.. "You have someone special who loves you and protected you".. He pointed at the logo on the shirt.. it said.. II Timothy 1:7 and it has Jesus in Superman outfit.. that where Mack and my kids went to camp last year and will go camp again this year..

"1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. "

(gulps)... So Mack is very lucky, I was non stop crying for next couple days.. cuz I am thankful hes fine and tried to eliminate my mind (Obsessive) of the wrose.. like thinking that he could have be the wrose by hitting in eye.. or shot through chest and dying etc.. so scary thoughts..

So, I am trying to deal so much things happening.. very busy since my man hasnt work for almost 1 1/2 months due to CTS (carpal tunnel sydrome).. and finally he got back to work last tuesday.. I was frustrating with no money, and try deal with alot of crabby around here.. finally my mom came home from her vacation, today she will take some kids.. so i can take few hours break..

Kids dont listen.. the curtiousity always tempt the kids.. *sigh*..

All i have to thank God everyday for the blessings that we have...

MsGiglz....

That was one hell of scary though.. I remember watching tv about parents though they had everything in safety away from kids.. but turn out it wasn't..

My husband said Once we move to Maine HE wants my kids to get safety course on Firearms course NOT from only guns but safety in woods incase of Hunters etc.. so I want to make sure my kids gets these safety course too.. perhaps they have one in Minnestoa ? check out maybe ?

glad your man went back to work.. Knowing the feeling with the partner not working and having children to raise is HARD... I can image that.. I went thru the same but with husband working and going to hospital so many times for my son's treatments in past 1 1/2 years it is HARD too!!

I want you to know you and your family are in my thoughts!
glad your son is doing okay now!

Psstt, Kids don't listen I have to agree with you, But we all still have to remind them no matter how many time we repeats :D

:jaw: It can't be real - your lucky he is a strong little lad.

What a miracle.

Thanks guys...

I forgot to add to clear where he got in chest.. it directed right to the chest where the heart is.. thats why I was like.... shock...

if shot in arm or leg.. less shock.. but.. still.. never know it can be fatal..

::sigh:: thanks again!...

HBHarvey: we have firearm classes here too.. but for only who want to registered or own a gun..

whats more.. schools already educated about safety guns and drugs.. I guess the curtiousity is so hard not to be tempted.

I am glad that he is gotta be ok.

Yea you are right kids dont listen. But the best way is to remind them that we do love them with caring.

MsGigz,

Oh boy, think about safety first.. Supervisored adults should watch the kids to play a paint guns, if no supervisored adult at the scene, then the Law requires it's kid's father responsibilty in accidents should pay for medical bills, not on your son's bills..

I remmy on Rescue 911 tv program, the kid played a BB gun and mistakes shot at the fly and went thru a screen of window and into the neighbor's kid.. the kid take responbility pays for it it's their parent pay bills.. and other one a farm guy tried to shot to scare the "aggrassive" dog off (tried to eat a chickens).. richoletted into little girl (Neighbor's kid) chest with a father's boy in the old shed.. the farmer guy handed a gun to the sheriff and full responsiblity to pay a medical bills for the little girl.

Yeah, Police charged the dad (firefighter) $150 and took 2 guns... air bb gun and pellet gun..

couple days ago, his dad and i met in the driveway, he said, i let you know that we are not mad but its been very busy with fires lately.. I said me too.. I just.. want to make sure we are not enemy neighbors just because of that accident.. he said no.. then he told me that he got ticket... charged $150.. I said WHAT? for ? he said.. 100 for unsupervised around the weapons and home alone.. I didnt know that his son was home alone.. $50 for careless.. i didnt catch what he really meant.... but thats really surprised that police didnt charged Mack... cuz he was the one played with guns with the next boy.. but I said to his dad.. I dont get ticket.. i feel its not fair.. he said dont worry.. :-/

interesting.. i dont want Mack gets away but he was grounded for 2 weeks.. hard working chores.. cuz he didnt follow our rules that he should know better that he shouldnt be around the guns...
:)

:jaw: Oh ouch!

Im very glad that your son is ALRIGHT! It would be very scary if its happen to any of my kids(dont have any) and I would be very freak out. I understand how your feeling are abt it. Geez, Im very, very glad that your son is okay...

oh man!!!! i am glad that he is okay! it scared me to read abt that...

I was very :-o read ur story abt ur son whoa! Good thing ur son is doing ok for now we are pray for your son... it's scare me out

I am glad your son is okay. I remmy my brother in law when he was 13, one of his one of friend got shot in leg from playing with real gun. That is why we were very strict with our guns here. Now our boys are grown up and safe meaning we did right thing with them. I am sorry u had to go thru this hell of experience. Thank God he is alive and safe. his dad paid cheap fine; lucky for him, here probably over thousand dollars fine or serve in jail time.

That's one scary story, I'm glad your son is okay, I hope he learned the lesson to listen to you after that accident. Show him more love and caring, he will probably listen to you more. Kids are so curious about things, even dangerous things, oh well.

wow!! ur son is very lucky! I'm glad hes ok! I hate when things happen to the kids when they don't listen! *hugs* I'm glad hes ok!

wow speechless i can image how you feel, I would freak out as much as you would too. That is scary hope your son get through this okay...

Oh boy! I hate when kids don't listen or don't believe how dangerous guns are. I hate it. I can imagine how you went thru, those scary feeling, upsetting and all thru. It would be the same thing if my boy is in the same situtations.

Hang in there. Mack will be okay.

It makes me goosebump about T-shirt with verse on it!!! It is so miracle! Ur son is very lucky to wear that t-shirt so bullet was not thru skin!

I wonder...what if he wear different t-shirt without verse or about Jesus, will bullet go thru skin?

MOMMA ANNIE IM STUNNED! im soo glad macks ok im stunned i can't belive this happened he's one lucky boy surrounded with love by his family ur very lucky....

mack now im sure has learned his lesson and how painful that can be with guns it could have been a real bullet and he could have died! he's ONE lucky boy!

even tho ur not mad at neighbor and neighbor owned up to his responsiblity im glad he was charged for that...

even tho mack shldn't have played with the gun in the first place STILL, glad he also got punished for allowing that to happen. but im so grateful he's still ard us..

OMG he's VERY lucky espeically with that shirt he was wearing!

 momma im still STUNNED!

 You must be ever so grateful that your son is alright after what he has been through. There was an angel  with your son that watched over your son, to protect him. I am sure now that your son realizes that by not listening to you, things could have been much worse, so now he will think twice and listen to any advice you give him. Who knows better than both you and your man.
I am happy that your man went back to work, you must be relieved :) , and I hope you have all good days from here on in.

You are in my prayers. Take care and may God be with you all always!!! :ily:
