my puppy destroyed my hearing aid

My Aunt didn't check my pockets first before washing my clothes in washing machine, one of the pockets had my hearing aid in, and of course it is useless, no hearing aid for me ever since! .................... oh well.... that's life.
 
I destroyed it .. not my dog, cat but ... me as a college student! During my college year, I was playing with a huge heavy magnet that my dad brought it home from work. I was playing with it. I did to my glasses, buttons, la la .. umm hearing aid?? ummm .... FINISHED! My hearing aid was destroyed immediately. All the little weenie thingies inside of my hearing aid got sucked onto the magnet! LMAO! I lied to the hearing aid dealer -- it is no longer working. I got a new one.

ROTF.. had to laugh, sorry! That's a good one. So they were digital HA's?? I must not put magnets on mine then.

An old analog hearing aid. I didn't think clearly at that moment. That was about 15 years ago. This time I won't let my newly digital hearing aids near the magnets .. even very small ones. :-P
 
Just a short F.Y.I. This is alittle off-topic but will quickly get back on-topic.

The same goes for your ATM/credit card. Do not let anything magnetic near your ATM/credit card at all !!!!!

Dino, I did not know about keeping hearing aids away from magnets but now that I know, I am keeping that one in mind. Thank you.

I didnt know that about magnets being a danger to HAs. Good thing u posted your experience. :)

I know exactly how you feel. I was taking a nap on the couch one day and my hearing aid fell out. My sister woke me up and handed me my hearing aid. She said, "Sorry, the dog chewed on it." Argh!

Luckily, the hearing aid still worked... for another 8 more years. Whew!
 
I know, that's got to be the worst. My HA that got ruined was on my "better" side....or slightly at least. So work has been tough, almost to the point that I don't wanna go back until My HA and new earmolds get here. I just don't get much benefit from my right side enough to have good speech recognition.
 
Excuse me, I laughing soo hard on this thread... I doesn't mean to laugh at you all but I can't help it... I find those thread very funny...

dogs chewed HA and Shed90's innoncent daughter want to help her mommy to clean her HA... :rofl:

I don't have any experience to let anyone to destory my HA...but things like slipper, toys etc... and also pinch the foods...

2 young cats (birth: 30.3.06) are definitely meat pincher.... They pinch the meat/sausages from kitchen table REAL FAST (oh yes very few seconds) and ran real fast back to basement where they know we can't catch them, to have their lunch... Really funny, I wish to leave camera to film cats... Flecky pinched and carried a long sausage in her mouth & her sister Blacky followed her down to basement.... Sussi & Kim, my 2 other cats show their respect for not pinch the foods where I leave on the table..., not Flecky & Blacky. They know they are allow to eat if I leave foods on the floor... :cool:

Kim (mother of Flecky & Blacky) chewed my hubby's slippers... All of 4 cats chewed hard packing carton paper to shape their teeth and of course their nails.
 
My cat used to pick them up and carry them someplace else. I've trained him to stay away from them and I also try to be extra careful, I place them in a container when I have them off so he doesn't hide them. Its bad enough he likes playing with bottlecaps from water bottles. I got at least 50 caps around the house. He's an odd kitty!!!

Aww how cute! I would have listened to my cat last nite. My hearing aid was left on next to me on my desk ..Been whistling for hours. She bugged me constantly while I was surfing the internet. Finally I realized I didnt shut it off .. There is no one and off .. but have to open the battery door of the Otican Sumo DM. Ugh ... Poor Kitties .. but good thing they didn't destroy it. It was recently bought last Fall!
 
Never had pet come NEAR my HAs. Dad would have killed them I think.

I was 4 years old and in the park with my family for Dad's soccer game. My HA battery died. What do I do? Must get new HA of course! (4 year old thinking) So I bury dead HA in sand pit. :D We go back next day to try and find it. GONE! We can't find it. So I got a new HA and had that one for 9 years. :D

it brought back memories of my old puppy/dog from when i was in H.S.--- i LOVED that dog to PIECES... she was one of the smartest dogs i had ever owned... yet a sneaky one! one day, my former speech therapist... heard noises (as if my HA was on but couldn't figure where it was coming from!!!) ... so when i went to get brittany from her cage to take her out--- and there was my HA in a million pieces right in FRONT OF HER!!! :jaw: :rofl: we were laughing our butts off at the whole thing! even though i was a bit upset... but she was just a very adorable and feisty puppy who loved to chew things/get into trouble!!!
