My New Cielo TV did not help with my CC

Me thinks you got "a Lemon"....I'd take that TV back to Walmart and tell 'em...it's not working right and you want to exchange it or ur $$ back.....Many Pawn Shops would have good flat-screen TV's for $300.00...just check them out first and find out the year the TV was manufactured...And feel Walmart should have flat-screens for $300.00 also, brand new.

Walmart is on of the places that sells this brand. If purchased there, they will take back things even though they are labeled this way.

It did not come from Wal Mart . My son in law brought it at a store next to one he worked at. I forgot to ask about the warranty on it . I better find out how long it is.

What show you are looking at also makes a difference where the captions appear.

For example there is a show called "It's Sew Easy" on the Create channel of PBS where the captions are always at the top of the screen when the sewing machine is being used so that they do not cover up where the sewing machine is.

I found it from google but my point is CC should not middle of screen on any tv shows. Other TV have CC at bottom as it should be. Both are exactly same channel and same time at store.

It's LCD, Not flat-screen. CRT already have flat-screen since around 2000's. Just avoid from confuse.

This is CRT with flat-screen.

I have a new Cielo and I am still not getting CC on all the stations I watch . My son in law brought the TV and the salesman told him that TV have nothing to with the CC being on the stations , that is up to the cable company to have the CC. I was also surprise when Comcast told me they do not a code # for Cielo to program into their remote. When I went to the Comcast office the woman said there was code for ALL the brand of TV.
Is there any way to get CC on all the stations, can you buy something to hook up to your TV and have it CC on all the stations.
My TV remote does not have a mute button and I can no longer mute my TV . I knew the companies that have ads on TV where trying to get this to happen as they did not want people muting their commercials . I will have to turn my HA off instead.

I am upset that I still do not have CC on all stations .

Did you pressed "MENU" on your TV remote? Did you see Caption setting on the menu? Personally, I don't like Celio.

My TV is brand new and it did not come from Wal mart. It's a flat screen TV and I never really like them and put off buying one for a long time. Just because something is new does not mean t's better. I hate how a lot things are made today . I think they're overprice junk . My son in law does not know a lot about using CC , I am the only one that HOH in my family . I am also not good with all the new tech that out today and my new TV has new tech I never had before. I can chance the sound to suit my hearing. it's not a lemon , it was marked down as the store wanted to made room for this year TV.

My son in law set it up for me. And he tried all the setting for CC , like I said he does know a lot about CC and I am not good with the new tech on my TV . I never heard of Celio , I really didn't think my son in law would pick out an unknown brand TV . He was trying to help me save money , but I would had paid a little more for a brand name TV. There was no way for me get the TV out of my car if I had brought it and I could not leave it my car when it is so cold out.

It looks like that. Right?

My new TV CC seen to move around . I was watching a station called 'ME TV' on 292 and some weird numbers kept coming on instead of CC , they stayed on for about minute then went off . Weird ! I will have to keep the TV as it said right on the box ' Not to bring it back to the store' .

...If that's an NBC-run station, then that problem isn't as local as I thought it was (our NBC stations (the main one and Me-TV) wig out on occasion and display random stuff (usually @@@@@@@@@ or something repeated).

Are you getting CC on any of your channels?

I called Cielo tech support today and I was told my TV was set up wrong for my CC to work all the stations. The CC are set on the by the TV remote and I was told I had to turn off my TV CC and program them on my Comcast remote . The guy said he could walk me though the TV setting but not the Comcast setting. I will have to call Comcast later and see if this is true . It would had been great if I did not need to use tow remotes to work my TV.

You don't know how to turn CC on in your cable box???

Turning Closed Captioning On or Off

What equipment does Comcast provide you? Standard Definition receiver, HD receiver or HD DVR?

Standard Definition receiver .What is a CableCARD device ?
I am not sure how my son in law program my CC , I think he did with the TV
remote. I know I have to turn on my TV CC and turn on my CC using my Comcast remote. But I still do not understand why I am not able to get CC on all the stations that way it's set up now. The CC is only working some of the stations and some of the other stations is getting some weird numbers instead of CC.

I will have to try and call Comcast and see if I will be able to understand the person I get.

Standard definition receivers don't have built-in CC decoders unfortunately, therefore you must use TV's CC decoder to display CC. If your new TV, Cielo is a HDTV, you should get a HD receiver or HD DVR instead. If you can't afford monthly rental fee for one of those, that's too bad. Both of them have a built-in CC decoder so you can use HDMI to watch HD programs with CC.

Cablecards are for Tivo or similar devices.

I've had similar problems with Verizon FIOS. They can indeed have problems on their end with the captions, and when I had Comcast way back when they also had problems on their end that messed up the captions. It can be a server problem on their end or a problem with the line, they need to check it. I would call Comcast and tell them that the captions are not coming in on every channel and they need to make sure that things are set up appropriately on their end.

I'm fighting with Verizon because of one channel not getting captions at all and the FCC said it is captioned so it's a problem with Verizon, and one channel not coming through On Demand with captions. So frustrating.

A Comcast repair guy was here a few day ago for a neighbor and I asked him
about my CC and he said I had set up my CC through my cable box. He said if he had time he would knock on my door but wasn't able to do so. I's very frustrating b/c you have people saying something difference and of course the cable company is not going say its' their fault the CC do not work . Comcast won't they blame the station and FCC say it's Comcast fault and it want FCC to do anything you have to file a complaint.

Type "closed captioning" in its search box and you may find answers or you can join and ask questions yourself. Don't forget to mention that you have a standard definition receiver which is a wrong receiver for your new HDTV. They will tell you that it doesn't have a built-in CC decoder so you have to switch it to a HD receiver or HD DVR that has a built-in CC decoder. Good luck!
