My Highest GPA... Yet!

Good going Vamp--whether you do get the 4.0, at least you can leave knowing that you've done your best and acheived remarkably well...congratulations! Keep it up through the next 2! ;)

For Australia, the highest GPA you can get is 6.8 in universities.

I am aiming for a GPA of 6.0 +

WTF!? 6.8 GPA? How does it work over there?

Here, it's... on a scale of 1 to 100: A (90 & above), B (80 to 89), C (70 to 79), D (60 to 69), and F (59 & below).

And they also break your GPA up into certain numbers:

A+: 4.0
A: 4.0
A-: 3.7
B+: 3.3
B: 3.0
B-: 2.7
C+: 2.3
C: 2.0
C-: 1.7
D+: 1.3
D: 1.0
D-: 0.7
F: 0.0

Eh? Where you get that?

Basically, it's 4.0, 3.0, 2.0, 1.0, and 0.0 with nothing in between. If you get a 91, you have a 4.0 for your GPA. If you get a 89, you have a 3.0 for your GPA.

That's how it's practiced at almost all institutions of higher learning in America. For example, if you get an A- in Introduction to Philosophy (for 3 credits) and and a B+ in Calculus II (5 credits), we calculate your GPA as follows:

((3.7 * 3.0) + (3.3 * 5.0)) / 8 credits total = 3.45

A 3.45 GPA is Above B+, making it a low A-. You can graduate cum laude from most universities with a 3.45.

Really? I've been to several colleges and they ALL use the method I mentioned.
